Am I missing something? Prize Money for 1st round Q is $0 and 0 WTA points. How long this has been going on at International Tournaments? IIRC players losing in 1st round get 1 WTA point and $200something :confused:

Yeah, that's very strange...I didn't notice it before, not on any other tourney :help: Zero points and money for QR1 loss seems a bit tight :o

What about Ekshibarova? She's played decently too...

The wild cards were, sadly, walking byes. Leaving aside the all-WC-match Natella Nabieva (16) had the best effort with 4 games vs Arefyeva.

No idea, they gave out 3 MD WCs last year and all went to Uzbeks, I'm thinking Sabina, Nigina & Albina because I know they are all in Tashkent at the moment but also wonder if a WC could go to Yaroslava Shvedova, she was in Q list (obviously still in NYC at the moment) and has made SFs in Tashkent previously... Draw ceremony is usually held at 14:00 Saturday, so hopefully we should know soon!! :)
