With Djokovic almost assured to win the men championsip, Serbia could take both titles if JJ triumphs over Maria.

Alhough Maria has generally enjoyed a lot of support in the USA, if the sizeable presence of Serbian-Americans in Ohio who mainly came to root for Djokovic transfer that support to "Is her name Jankovic?", Serbia Day in Cincinnati could become reality on Sunday.

And Zimonjic is in finals with Llodra so that'sthree Serbs in finals.

I really hope JJ can take this, got nothing against Maria but i think JJ could do with the confidence boost going into the US open + she is my favourite Serbian player.

It's definitely not a foregone conclusion that Djoker will win. :p

The way Djoker has been playing, I think he is sure thning sure to make Sunday a Serbia Day.
Sure JJ has been playing well and better than Maria, but Maria has gone this far with this scrappy game, she must be confident that she can take on anyone on the final (who is not Serena) and win it.

This will be an interesting day

For Serbian posters, is the press in Serbia playing up this angle?
From what I hear and read, Novak is already a national hero in Serbia, so the responsability must be on Lady Ja Ja

Tennis is on covers of all newspapers almost every day. Serbian TV station B92 is showing tennis weekly and has reporters in north America for exclusive interviews and stuff ... we get to read about tennis a lot here lately.

I haven't seen Jankovic play in ages!

Is her serve still crap? Are her groundstrokes still passive?

If so, then I expect an easy win for Maria. Maria seems to only struggle against those players with good serves and big groundstrokes (except Stosur, but all tall girls own Stosur).

She is become agressive, alhtough not in Maria, Venus or Serena territory.

What has chnaged most is consistency in rallies, placement, usinng DL shots to paint the line on both sides,
better anticipation, willingness to saty in the rallies as long as it takes, more relax approach.

Serve still the same, no power.

Eh? Murray is now 7-1 in Masters finals. One of the best records out there. He had already beaten Djokovic in masters finals twice, and Federer twice and del Potro as well. Not humiliating at all to lose to him in a masters final.

A slam final on the other hand....

For the adults posting in this thread, there is no such thing as jinx.
Some of you seems genuily upset that creating this thread made actually Djokovic and Jankovic lose their respective matches.

It is the same as Santa Claus coming down the chimney bearinng gifts on XMass eve.
When you become adults, you stop believing in that stuff, you should do the same for the notion of jinx.
