frenchie May 18th, 2006, 01:10 PM If Nastya wins her match today, she'll have a good chance to reach the semis as Oprandi will be her opponent in the QF! Fight Nastya ~|Naomi|~ May 18th, 2006, 01:21 PM Davai Anastasia:) frenchie May 18th, 2006, 01:39 PM Nastya soon on court! frenchie May 18th, 2006, 02:00 PM already 4/1 for Sveta!! remember RG2004...... Spunky83 May 18th, 2006, 02:28 PM already 4/1 for Sveta!! remember RG2004...... and now already 4-1 for Nastya in the 2nd! I hope this rollercoaster won´t change direction again  iine: May 18th, 2006, 02:34 PM Oh no! .. It's 4-3 now! :scared: Spunky83 May 18th, 2006, 02:38 PM and we´re goind down again...NastyaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAURGH Spunky83 May 18th, 2006, 02:45 PM Lol Lol Lol iine: May 18th, 2006, 02:46 PM Oh my god .. :sobbing: She didn't win a single point after being 4-1 up. This is sad. :o selyoink May 18th, 2006, 02:47 PM Nastya lost the last 18 points of the match. An embarrassing finish from her. Josh810 May 18th, 2006, 02:47 PM She lost the last, what, 18 points of the match? :banghead: Foot's Fingers May 18th, 2006, 02:48 PM Nastya  you gave me a hope when leaded 4-1..... but then..... NOTHING!!! Foot's Fingers May 18th, 2006, 02:49 PM Next Stop - Turkey selyoink May 18th, 2006, 02:49 PM She lost the last, what, 18 points of the match? :banghead: Yep. Got broken to love twice and Kuznetsova held at love twice and win the last two points of a deuce game at 4-1. Bubba08 May 18th, 2006, 02:51 PM Nastya lost the last 18 points of the match. An embarrassing finish from her. It is the scariest stat, maybe there was an injury or something, and she didn't want to retire. At least it wasn't a double bagel. :D :woohoo: Good luck in Istanbul Nastya! :bounce: frenchie May 18th, 2006, 02:53 PM There must have been flashes of brilliance in the second set... ....but what an end :tape: I hope she's right  Spunky83 May 18th, 2006, 02:55 PM Hey...at least there´s still Roddick who had lost 20 straight points in the 2004´s (I think it was) semis Masterscup to Hewitt. OMG, Nastya selyoink May 18th, 2006, 03:00 PM There must have been flashes of brilliance in the second set... ....but what an end :tape: I hope she's right  That brilliance could have just been Kuznetsova hitting tons of errors and then turning things around with a flurry of winners to end it. That would be my guess. Either way losing 18 points in a row in unacceptable. goldenlox May 18th, 2006, 03:02 PM At least Nastya played well for a part of the match. She is, along with Justine, the only recent RG winners in the FO field. Spunky83 May 18th, 2006, 03:06 PM At least Nastya played well for a part of the match. She is, along with Justine, the only recent RG winners in the FO field. and that would make me a proud fan of those two ;) However, 18 straight points? How is that even possible? Kuzi must have played really really really carefully and solid (I mean not even an error in four games!) AND Nastya must have really really really sucked. Thauron May 18th, 2006, 03:07 PM Too bad she lost, not too unexpected or dramatic though. Good thing is she has some time to rest her leg a while, although I would have rather seen her in the QF of course. Best of luck in Istanbul. TheBoiledEgg May 18th, 2006, 03:10 PM Nastya...... ending  :help: hope for more better form next week in Istanbul :) selyoink May 18th, 2006, 03:12 PM and that would make me a proud fan of those two ;) However, 18 straight points? How is that even possible? Kuzi must have played really really really carefully and solid (I mean not even an error in four games!) AND Nastya must have really really really sucked. Maybe Nastya kept falling down. My guess is that Kuznetsova was hitting a lot of errors in the beginning of the set and then started blasting some winners which forced Nastya to go for more resulting in errors. goldenlox May 18th, 2006, 03:12 PM Playing the week before RG is a gamble. She has to stay healthy selyoink May 18th, 2006, 03:13 PM Playing the week before RG is a gamble. She has to stay healthy Yeah, I hate when players play a tournament the week before a major. Glad she is doing the same for Wimbledon. sinterklaasje May 18th, 2006, 03:29 PM Nastya :o  When I watched the scores, it was 4-1 in the second set. I hoped she would win at least one set, that would have been a great result IMO. The next time I watched the scores, it was already finished  :banghead: :smash: I expected a loss, but knowing she led 4-1 and couldn't win the set is painful  ARIANE 5 May 18th, 2006, 03:48 PM Personnaly I will be patient with her. She has work with her new coatch only for a few days. She must work her game and her mental. We will see if it's better nex week and in RG. Come on girl :smooch: Dementinator May 18th, 2006, 03:53 PM well bad Luck Nastya ,but to be honest the score was a little better than I expected ,in the second set at least ,was closer than it looked..... never mind... cindy May 18th, 2006, 04:30 PM sometimes I think that she doesn't want to win anymore realy she is affraid or I don't know what but she doesn't want it! I'm a real huge fan of her and I realy think that she is one of the best player ever but her mental sucks! there is no way she can escape it to me she is always saying that she doesn't deserve it when someone (especialy russian journalist) say something great about her she realy underestimates herself and if this doesn't change she will never win again a big match...what a waste of talent! ARIANE 5 May 18th, 2006, 04:49 PM Agree with you Cindy. She must become again a "killer" like in 2004. She must enter on the court to win. selyoink May 18th, 2006, 06:49 PM Maybe she should take steroids since they contribute to anger issues I think. Then Nastya will be strong and mad. Almalyk May 18th, 2006, 08:25 PM Nastya - the second set seems close, but i'm disappointed now that I hear you were 4-1 up. you should have been fighting! 18 points in a row, is just crazy! :tears: Good luck in Istanbul. :) denine May 18th, 2006, 10:21 PM Aw crap. :( slk45 May 19th, 2006, 01:12 AM Nastya! Almalyk May 19th, 2006, 01:46 AM I've read 2 rumours (either in GM or Istanbul Tourny thread) 1) Nastya will play an exhibition with Maria Sharapova  in Istanbul 2) That Nastya will play an exhibition by the sea with the person who has donated the most money to the tournament. Can anyone confirm either? selyoink May 19th, 2006, 04:33 AM I've read 2 rumours (either in GM or Istanbul Tourny thread) 1) Nastya will play an exhibition with Maria Sharapova  in Istanbul 2) That Nastya will play an exhibition by the sea with the person who has donated the most money to the tournament. Can anyone confirm either? Well she probably just wants to hang on to that Diamond Aces award for a 4th year in a row. Almalyk May 19th, 2006, 04:50 AM Well she probably just wants to hang on to that Diamond Aces award for a 4th year in a row.    Yes, well that's the only award she will be in contention for if she keeps playing like she currently is. :tape: Foot's Fingers May 19th, 2006, 07:02 AM have watched th ematch recodered...... Seems it's a REAL big difference between Nastya 2003-04 and current one She looks like she have no many desire to win and beat top 10 player  denine May 19th, 2006, 11:17 AM     Yes, well that's the only award she will be in contention for if she keeps playing like she currently is. :tape:  Bubba08 May 19th, 2006, 11:22 AM Sharapova withdrew from Istanbul, Natya is a heavy favourite for the title. It seems too easy. Spunky83 May 19th, 2006, 11:23 AM I've read 2 rumours (either in GM or Istanbul Tourny thread) 1) Nastya will play an exhibition with Maria Sharapova  in Istanbul 2) That Nastya will play an exhibition by the sea with the person who has donated the most money to the tournament. Can anyone confirm either? I bet $100 that the person who plays her will win :o ~|Naomi|~ May 19th, 2006, 01:07 PM Sharapova withdrew from Istanbul, Natya is a heavy favourite for the title. It seems too easy. I wouldn't say that. Anna-Lena is playing in Istanbul and she is having a good year. But none the less go Anastasia, I won't settle for any less than a Nastya-ALG final:devil: _LuCaS_ May 19th, 2006, 01:52 PM well bad Luck Nastya ,but to be honest the score was a little better than I expected ,in the second set at least ,was closer than it looked..... never mind... Give me a break  Bubba08 May 19th, 2006, 02:19 PM I wouldn't say that. Anna-Lena is playing in Istanbul and she is having a good year. But none the less go Anastasia, I won't settle for any less than a Nastya-ALG final:devil: Yeah, I meant she is one of the favourites...on the paper. :p Filippo-Nastya May 19th, 2006, 02:22 PM Unbelievable! Even Romina Oprandi is playing better than Nastya at the moment.  goldenlox May 19th, 2006, 02:56 PM She isn't totally healthy. Her thighs are troubling her and she needs her movement. Especially on clay selyoink May 20th, 2006, 04:55 AM Unbelievable! Even Romina Oprandi is playing better than Nastya at the moment.  Yeah if Oprandi had played Nastya it would have been quite terrible. Poor Nastya would have had her confidence shattered yet again. selyoink May 20th, 2006, 04:57 AM I bet $100 that the person who plays her will win :o I can't wait to see the posts in GM when we find out that she loses to the person she plays. Almalyk May 20th, 2006, 10:57 PM Myskina bye Pironkova - Diaz-Oliva Q - Molik A.Bondarenko - Castano Chakvetadze - Shayghnessy Q - Yakimova Krajicek - Kotkina Senoglu - Mirza Santangelo - Czink Cibulkova - Harkleroad Q - Camerin Jackson - Peer Kostanic - Sprem Q - Washington Gagliardi - Daniilidou Groenefeld bye Almalyk May 20th, 2006, 10:59 PM Draw as expected I guess, Molik is possible early on, but she still seems badly out of shape. If Nastya is any sort of decent form she should waltz to the final. But I doubt she will... All the best Nastya, but i've got a feeling it's going to be a scary week :scared: ~|Naomi|~ May 21st, 2006, 05:47 AM I don't think Molik will get that far, she lost to Dellacqua in a practice match at Fed Cup to see who should get the 4th spot in the team & then lost again to Dellacqua again in a 50K in Japan, then won 2 games from Srebotnik last week. But she did just beat Dellacqua in the aussie wc playoff for RG 6/4 3/6 6/3 and now plays Sophie Ferguson. Pironkova could be tough in round 2. I don't know what she has done recently since her win over Venus at AO. Anna could be tough in the semi but that would depend on Anna's leg after withdrawing from Rome, but I guess it is ok if she is playing the week before RG. But yeah one match at a time. Good Luck Nastya:) iine: May 21st, 2006, 08:23 AM All the best Nastya, but i've got a feeling it's going to be a scary week :scared: Yeah, me too. I desperately hope she's in good form. cindy May 21st, 2006, 08:53 AM Sharapova withdrew from Istanbul, Natya is a heavy favourite for the title. It seems too easy. yeah too easy...the prob is that if it is too hard she will lose too...omg what kind of fan are we!? remember me during the olympic game I wanted slutskaya to win the gold....bad fan! :fiery: we must hope and believe in her...if I saw her during RG (but I doubt I'll do) I'll tell her that she must believe in her and that she CAN defeat the numer 50th coz she doesn't seems to understand it if she loses at istanbul I give you the 100$ spunky ;) Thauron May 21st, 2006, 08:56 AM If she keeps her head together she should be fine - of course that is 'if' - watch out for Chakvetadze though. The others shouldn't be able to trouble her too much, if her leg is fine that is. frenchie May 21st, 2006, 10:54 AM Pironkova will be tough she doesn't make any mistake Spunky83 May 21st, 2006, 02:15 PM yeah too easy...the prob is that if it is too hard she will lose too...omg what kind of fan are we!? remember me during the olympic game I wanted slutskaya to win the gold....bad fan! :fiery: we must hope and believe in her...if I saw her during RG (but I doubt I'll do) I'll tell her that she must believe in her and that she CAN defeat the numer 50th coz she doesn't seems to understand it if she loses at istanbul I give you the 100$ spunky ;) I´ll send you my bank account information next week ;) Just like Frenchie, I also do think that Pironkova could really trouble Nastya in the second round. denine May 21st, 2006, 04:38 PM I really doubt she'll win the title.. hope she proves me wrong though. :) goldenlox May 21st, 2006, 05:06 PM I would prefer she rested this week. I would assume Anastasia is being paid to play this-one of the perks of winning a major. I read Don Budge once said he paid $2,000 in taxes on $150,000 Get those under the table appearance fees :bounce: martirogi May 21st, 2006, 05:49 PM nastya will win just like sunfeast, but she doesnt have to play anyone tough so it will be meaningless. :banghead:   goldenlox May 21st, 2006, 05:59 PM As long as Nastya is getting paid, I hope she wins and stays healthy. Then comes her chance to get some points, RG slk45 May 21st, 2006, 11:51 PM nastya will win just like sunfeast, but she doesnt have to play anyone tough so it will be meaningless. :banghead:  :rolleyes:By eliminating quality points, the WTA rendered the level of one's opponent meaningless. :cuckoo: :( A win is a win, whether its over a #1 player or #367. :retard: :retard: The only differential now in terms of ranking points is the Tier level. So no win is meaningless, except on a personal level, i.e., how far a player is pushed to raise her own level of play. I read Don Budge once said he paid $2,000 in taxes on $150,000 Get those under the table appearance fees :bounce:Don was lucky he was playing in the '30s and '40s instead of today. :smash: Almalyk May 22nd, 2006, 02:23 AM nastya will win just like sunfeast, but she doesnt have to play anyone tough so it will be meaningless. :banghead:   A very honest avatar Martirogi! I hope that she forces you to change it sometime soon... But I can't see it happening at the moment. Almalyk May 22nd, 2006, 02:28 AM Seems Nastya will play with the 'hometown tennis hopeful' I'd prefer it if she had played with someone like Anna C. Doubles draw: (1)Groenefeld/Shaughnessy vs. Mirza/Molik Myskina/Şenoğlu v Kostanic/Widjaja (4)Harkleroad/Mattek v Klemenschits/Klemenschits Fedak/Hrdinova v (wc)Czink/Özgen Bondarenko/Yakimova v Errani/Stanciute (3)Daniilidou/Woehr v Chakvetadze/Krajicek Husarova/Peer v Santangelo/Washington (2)Camerin/Gagliardi v Qualifier selyoink May 22nd, 2006, 04:18 AM Well I have just seen the draw and of course it isn't very hard. But I'm betting Nastya goes down in the quarterfinals to Castano probably. If she can win this tournament it would be a nice confidence boost for the French. Still it probably won't matter. Martirogi's avatar is probably what we all have to look forward to for the near future. martirogi May 22nd, 2006, 09:53 AM By eliminating quality points, the WTA rendered the level of one's opponent meaningless. :cuckoo: :( A win is a win, whether its over a #1 player or #367. :retard: :retard: The only differential now in terms of ranking points is the Tier level. So no win is meaningless, except on a personal level, i.e., how far a player is pushed to raise her own level of play. well i meant in terms of level of play. beating lower ranked girls is nice, but i can't even remember the last time she took A SET off of a top player. martirogi May 22nd, 2006, 10:17 AM 2006 L 16, 46 S.Kuznetsova L 36, 36 M.Sharapova L 16, 36 D.Safina (not even a top player :o) L 46, 36 M.Hingis L 46, 63, 46 E.Dementiva (demen shouldnt count  ) L 16, 26 P.Schnyder 2005 L 06, 46 L.Davenport W 63, 67, 61 E.Dementieva L 26, 36 E.Dementieva L 26, 63, 16 L.Davenport (well here it is, i forgot about this) L 46, 26 A.Mauresmo L 64, 46, 26 M.Pierce L 16, 46 K.Clijsters W 57, 64, 62 V.Williams L 36, 46 A.Mauresmo So i guess she's gotten worse this year. :sobbing: how mediocre of her. Spunky83 May 22nd, 2006, 10:20 AM I´ll be happy already if she makes two rounds...I finally saw the Olympics´04 match versus Justine. Regardless of the result, it was a real pleasure to see Nastya ´able´ to play tennis. Good stratgies, well placed shots, even a good serve. Oh these times... We just have to get used to the fact that this is a different Nastya from previous editions. Yeah I agree.. But the last edition of a 'Tier 3 Nastya' was in Calutta, and she didn't drop a set to win that tourny... But there are a few more challenges in this draw.... I hope I wake up tomorrow to a win. :hearts: But I won't cry into my weet-bix if she loses either  Thauron May 23rd, 2006, 09:28 AM Myskina shouldn't have too much problems with Pironkova today. She had a whole lot of trouble against Diaz Olivia yesterday. Of course, everything is possible, but I am rather confident for this one. I hope I won't be dissappointed in a few hours. On a side note, I have seen some recent Neiland photos, the few I could find - and I am not so sure anymore if the woman I was ranting about in my previous post was actually Neiland. The woman I remember looked a whole lot younger, although she had very short, almost blond-coloured hair too. But maybe she had physically aged about 15 or 20 years by the end of that match, like we all did. ;) The woman I remember had remarkable blue eyes too, which doesn't seem to be the case for Neiland. Next time I'll better check some pics before I start ranting. :o If that Olympics 2004 woman is not Neiland, I have no beef with Larisa being Nastya's new coach. I am still anxiously waiting on any official news though. Almalyk May 23rd, 2006, 09:52 AM Good luck today Nastya :) I'll be sleeping when you play - don't cause me any nightmares. No doubt some straight set wins will give her confidence for next week too! :D Like Lucas said, the style of her game will probably change with a new coach... It will be interesting to see what the near future holds :) Interesting as long as she keeps winning. Even though I'm not confident her game I cannot wait to see what Roland Garros holds in store for her. I'm just hoping she doesn't get either Henin-Hardenne or Kuznetsova in the 4th round. I'd much rather have Schnyder or Dementieva. Of course Nastya might not make that far. As for this week the title would be great but as long as she wins a few matches and gets to the semis I'd be happy. She plays doubles tomorrow on the last match on center court. Josh810 May 23rd, 2006, 10:05 PM Wait a minute, a player isn't required to play 3 sets? Good job Mysky! Thought this one would be tough after seeing Pironkova vs. Venus earlier in the year. Too bad, but singles is where it is supposed to happen this week. Maybe it is even better that way, it means more time to rest and relax. Don't want to her to hurry to RG exhausted from a week of constant matchplay in both singles and doubles. Feel a bit sad for Senoglu though. Best of luck in singles tomorrow. selyoink May 24th, 2006, 03:16 PM I think it is a good she lost the doubles match. Yes didn't she lose 6-0 6-1 quite some time ago? Let's hope the score is nothing close when they play tomorrow. I'm pleased she lost doubles too - I usually am... But now they have updated it for todays matches so it has a picture of Groenefeld. So, I don't know if you can find the picture anymore. Try looking in the Istanbul Tournament forum. Might be a pictures thread in there with Nastya. If you do a yahoo news search you can find pictures but they are pictures of her wearing the normal pink top. Maybe the wta site used a picture that wasn't from Istanbul? sinterklaasje May 24th, 2006, 10:04 PM It wasn't a recent pic on wtatour.com. Maybe from Fed Cup final last year. I just loved her RG 2005 outfit, but unfortunately she didn't wear it a lot as she crashed out in the first round and didn't wear it afterwards (not that I can remember). I'm more concerned about the RG draw though. I really hope Nastya avoids Henin-Hardenne and Kuznetsova. I don't want a potential 4th round match with either of them. Also it would be preferable as always if she avoids Mauresmo. Foot's Fingers May 26th, 2006, 06:49 AM ISTANBUL, Turkey - Anastasia Myskina and Anna-Lena Groenefeld took one step closer to a much-anticipated championship showdown at the Istanbul Cup, but things weren't easy, as the quarterfinals took place Thursday at the Tier III, Roland Garros tune-up event. In the feature evening match, the top-seeded Myskina withstood a barrage of aggressive topspin groundstrokes and fought back from breaks of serve down in both sets in edging No.6 seed Catalina Castaño, 64 76(3). Ranked No.12 in the world, Myskina avoided becoming Castaño's third Top 20 scalp of the 2006 clay court season, after the Colombian had notched impressive wins in recent weeks on the dirt over both Groenefeld and Czech phenom Nicole Vaidisova. "I didn't play such a great match, but at least I won," said Myskina, who won one game in her only prior meeting with Castaño, at an ITF Women's Circuit event five years ago. "I hope to play better tomorrow." With the win, Myskina moves into her second Sony Ericsson WTA Tour semifinal of the year, and her first on clay since winning Roland Garros two years ago. The Russian next faces Dutch teenager Michaella Krajicek (pictured), a 61 60 quarterfinal winner over Anastasiya Yakimova of Belarus. Krajicek, 17 years old, is already a two-time Tour titlist at the Tier IV level, and will be appearing in her second Tier III semifinal, having reached the final four last October in Hasselt 2 sets win :) Congrats!!! Now onto the RG draw. I think Mirza is a great first round opponent. She has very little experience on clay and has been awful this year. Nastya should have no problems in that match. Same with second round. Ivanovic has not had any good results this year either. So I think that is a great draw. Unfortunately Nastya stands little to no chance against Henin-Hardenne. Her draw is ideal for three rounds in my opinion. But she really needed to draw Schnyder or Dementieva as a 4th round opponent. As it is I see her making the 4th before getting annihilated. Still it would be her second best result by far at RG. slk45 May 26th, 2006, 05:23 PM :yeah: Nice win, Nastya!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Michaella took out Mirza in the 2R at Istanbul, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. I think Nastya can win against Krajicek who is not that good on clay (overweighted :tape: ) I saw Misa at Amelia Island last month, and I would not say she's overweight. Very cute, in fact. Take this title, Nastya!! :drive: http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/global/photogallery/istanbul/f_20.jpg Filippo-Nastya May 26th, 2006, 06:03 PM I'm too happy right now, third win in straight sets in a row and first final of 2006. Great Nastya!! :bigclap: As regard RG, I hope (like you all) Nastya will play her 1r match on Tuesday so she would have 2 days off after the Istanbul final and Frenchie would have the chance to attend her match. P.S. Spunky will be very "happy" with Justine, Nastya and Ivanovic in the same 1/8 of the draw. iine: May 26th, 2006, 06:06 PM She won in TWO sets ! .. Again ! :D Very nice win .. :woohoo: manu32 May 26th, 2006, 07:33 PM no pics in this tournament??? Almalyk May 26th, 2006, 08:02 PM Well done on reaching the final Nastya! Another straight sets win - amazing! Good luck vs Peer. A clay court title would be awesome right before RG. Like I said earlier, Nastya should reach the 4th round in RG. But that's when the bomb lands. :help: Almalyk May 26th, 2006, 08:16 PM Highlights of the match here:  :bigclap: http://www.superspor.com/detail.php?Type=18&kategori=165&go=22205 Filippo-Nastya May 26th, 2006, 08:37 PM Thanks for highlights King Taniwha :worship: In the last 2 points of the tb Nastya was fantastic!! Thauron May 26th, 2006, 08:56 PM Peer will be tough, she seem to have been playing outstanding tennis this week (or did her opponents just suck? Can't tell without decent statistics.) None the less, if focussed Myskina should be able to win this and take her first singles title of the year. I hope for the best tomorrow. I don't like her draw at RG much though, first Henin, than probably Petrova - anything else would probably have been so much better. She should reach the fourth round though, everything more than that would be a huge bonus - would simply be amazing actually. I might be possible though that Henin is rusty and tense during her first matches - like she was last year (until after the Kuznetzova match) - if so there will definately be opportunities... fleur137 May 26th, 2006, 10:41 PM WOOOHOOOO!!! super glad she won! first final of the year! hope she flattens peer even though it'll be a tough job. anyway, please head over to the 2006 Tournaments Thread in Nastya's subforum and decide on a colour for finals and title. Whether she wins or not, there'll be a new colour cos green and red is too dreary for such an occassion!! Almalyk May 26th, 2006, 11:06 PM Nastya: "I'm a lot happier today with my match than yesterday," said Myskina, who is now through to her first final of the season, and will seek her 11th career title. "Krajicek hits the ball harder than Castaño, which I like, so it was easier for me to play my game. I'm glad that I played here this week, as it's given me a lot of confidence for Roland Garros." Myskina has rekindled her clay court magic of old in Istanbul, having won her lone Grand Slam title on the terre battue of Roland Garros two years ago. In 2005 she was just 1-4 on the dirt, which included an opening round loss at her title defense in Paris, and prior to this week she was just 2-2 on clay in 2006. angiee3 May 27th, 2006, 12:11 AM Nice.. nastya now take the title...!!! iine: May 27th, 2006, 05:27 AM Thanks for the highlights!:yeah: Nastya was playing mighty good at the end of the match.:D frenchie May 27th, 2006, 06:06 AM Terrible news for me!!! Nastya's part of the draw will begin on Sunday so I wont be able to see her on tuesday except if they give her a late start which I doubt! fleur137 May 27th, 2006, 06:16 AM Terrible news for me!!! Nastya's part of the draw will begin on Sunday so I wont be able to see her on tuesday except if they give her a late start which I doubt! on sunday??? i hope she'll have time to settle down after today's match!! Almalyk May 27th, 2006, 06:39 AM Terrible news for me!!! Nastya's part of the draw will begin on Sunday so I wont be able to see her on tuesday except if they give her a late start which I doubt! It's ok Frenchie! The schedule for Sunday is already on the web site, and Nastya isn't playing. There are only about 8 women's matches scheduled for the day! You should see her on Tuesday! :wavey: :bounce: fleur137 May 27th, 2006, 07:10 AM It's ok Frenchie! The schedule for Sunday is already on the web site, and Nastya isn't playing. I want another title! :woohoo: TiK-Tee May 27th, 2006, 09:07 AM Good luck today Nastya :D frenchie May 27th, 2006, 10:03 AM It's ok Frenchie! The schedule for Sunday is already on the web site, and Nastya isn't playing. There are only about 8 women's matches scheduled for the day! You should see her on Tuesday! :wavey: :bounce: No I made a mistake :o No matches of Nastya's part of the draw are scheduled for Sunday so it means Nastya's part will certainly begin Monday No Nastya/Mirza for me  martirogi May 27th, 2006, 10:16 AM i love the justine 4th round. no bullshit easy draw this time. i hope for one of two things: nastya shows up and wins or goes home in tears with a 60, 60 loss. enough is enough anastasia. play hard or succumb to a perpetual 10-20 rank. Shoulderpova May 27th, 2006, 10:26 AM It's time for Nastya to take this title this year. All the top Russian players have already won theirs. Go Nastya :) Filippo-Nastya May 27th, 2006, 10:36 AM Eurosport and Eurosport 2 are broadcasting the RG quali today. It's the first time in my life I have the chance to watch the quali round matches of a GS tournament. What a pity!! I wanted to see the Istanbul finals :( Almalyk May 27th, 2006, 10:51 AM 10 minutes or so to go - i'm :scared: Good luck! Almalyk May 27th, 2006, 11:41 AM Nastya takes first set 61! doesn't face a single bp in the whole set, and wins 76% of 1st serve points!! wow! Bubba08 May 27th, 2006, 12:15 PM It is never a good sign when she wins the first set easily. denine May 27th, 2006, 12:34 PM she's sucking right now..................... Marat Safin fan May 27th, 2006, 12:38 PM she's gonna lose unless she slows this down Spunky83 May 27th, 2006, 01:08 PM Nastya, Ana, JHH in one part of the draw...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? Nastya 5-5...40-0, now AD Peer..ahhh Almalyk May 27th, 2006, 01:20 PM this is the ultimate rollercoaster right here... and it's in a fucking final! Almalyk May 27th, 2006, 01:21 PM into the TB 3-3 how could anyone watch????? fleur137 May 27th, 2006, 01:24 PM Bloody F*** It!! denine May 27th, 2006, 01:26 PM omg. that totally sucked. she was grt in the first set but that was it. FUCK. so pissed off. Bubba08 May 27th, 2006, 01:29 PM Just like the third round of her US Open 2005, the scores are similar.  fleur137 May 27th, 2006, 01:29 PM she just had to blow it. it was a great come back and it just all had to fall apart. frenchie May 27th, 2006, 01:32 PM The good thing is that she fought to the end!! Bad luck Her problem is to play well throughout a whole match and stay focused during the second set How many times did she win the first 6/1 or 6/0 and then lost the next two?? sinterklaasje May 27th, 2006, 01:53 PM :bigcry: not the end I had hoped for after such a great week what a disappointment :banghead: :bigcry: :banghead: :bigcry: Filippo-Nastya May 27th, 2006, 01:53 PM What a sadness! Twenty minutes of craziness from 6-1 *3-2 up to 6-1 3-6 0-3* down has ruined the job of a whole week. angiee3 May 27th, 2006, 02:02 PM what a way to blow it.. i was sure she would win.... (just lost a title, that she should have had by now....) this really upsets me.. nothing we can do... martirogi May 27th, 2006, 02:37 PM what a fucking idiot. ys May 27th, 2006, 02:42 PM Well fougnt, baby, things are finally coming together.. Dementinator May 27th, 2006, 03:02 PM Well theres Negatives and Positives here ,She played solidly for the week ,when she would normally have struggled and then lost a tight final she should have won ,but somehow she seems to be going in the right direction really ,not quite sure if shes gonna ever get right back up there ,but shes far from headed backwards at least. Needs to really maintain concentration ,Sheer is good and played well ,but Nastya really threw that one away which is kinda sad ,but there we go, RG now....onwards..... ARIANE 5 May 27th, 2006, 03:15 PM Typically a Nastya match. Agree with you Frenchie. She often has difficulties after a first easy set. Concentration ? Nervousness ? But she made a good tournement. Now she must rest and play a good match vs. Mirza. And win of course. Welcome in Paris Nastya :wavey: iine: May 27th, 2006, 03:18 PM I'm sooooooo disappointed! :sobbing: I really believed that she would win this thing. :( And hey, she reached the finals for the first time of this year. That's something:o  goldenlox May 27th, 2006, 03:34 PM You always want to win a final, the money and points have a big gap that day. But this a lower Tier tourny. Now she has to get ready for Mirza, and the wild crowd sinterklaasje May 27th, 2006, 06:24 PM Apparantly she has some kind of inury (muscles of the right arm). I hope it isn't too serious. Maybe the injury bothered her during the final. Peer was very impressive during the whole week, so we knew it would be a hard match for Nastya. I'm happy she reached the final (3 straight set victories  ), but seeing her lose like this hurts. She was so close. Anyway, Nastya sounded positive after the match (but she always does lately, even after losing to a player ranked 309 :o ), so I hope she gained some confidence. Best of luck in Paris! slk45 May 27th, 2006, 06:29 PM   Nastya. It looked so promising! As disappointing as the loss in the final is, it hardly means the whole week was thrown away. The first final this year in 9 tournaments.... that is a positive! It is moving forward, not to mention an additional 84 pts. You know you can go the final step.... use that energy at RG! Go Nastya! :bounce: :bounce: itzhak May 27th, 2006, 08:28 PM I saw the match...it was up and down for both of the players... What is weird (or not...) about Nastya is her sad look all the time. look at Nadia- she said that her improvement is because she change her attitude to be more positive and more calm and smiling...She seems always like someone with no motivation at all...you can see this when she come to court from the bench between the games, she is walking very slowly like saying "I must play?"... what do you think? slk45 May 28th, 2006, 03:56 AM no pics in this tournament???Here are some from the tournament site: angiee3 May 28th, 2006, 04:20 AM ohh. i can't see the pics.. could you put them up some other way please.. i don't know if the links are not working or is it my computer... selyoink May 28th, 2006, 05:29 AM What a typical choke job from Nastya. We all should have seen it coming from a mile away. Stupid choker. Well ultimately this tournament is meaningless. I just hope she plays well at RG. On the bright side if she loses in the first round her career record at RG will fall to 8-7. That would have to be the worst winning % for a player at a slam that they actually won. slk45 May 28th, 2006, 06:43 AM ohh. i can't see the pics.. could you put them up some other way please... The links still work for me -- I uploaded them, so don't know if that has anything to do with it. I'll try it this way: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i255/slk45/Myskina-Istanbul06-3.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i255/slk45/Myskina-Istanbul06-2.jpg http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i255/slk45/Myskina-Istanbul06.jpg Almalyk May 28th, 2006, 07:07 AM What a typical choke job from Nastya. On the bright side if she loses in the first round her career record at RG will fall to 8-7. That would have to be the worst winning % for a player at a slam that they actually won. It's a bizarre record. It's almost like she was someone else for a week. Or made a magic wish. I want her to reach the 4th round. I'll be satisfied with that. cindy May 28th, 2006, 08:40 AM now she just have to do better in RG...c'mon nastya we still believe in you even if we are the only one! | |
