Quite glad I was wrong.

after nastya lost the olympics she won the first round of the us open 61, 60 and said the reason she won was because her opponent was nervous and didnt keep the ball in play. she lost the next round. doesnt sound similar at all. :scared:

The top two seeds at the Sunfeast Open advanced to the second round untroubled, as top seed Anastasia Myskina lost only one game against Romania's Edina Gallovits, 61 60. "She started the match pretty well," Myskina said.

"But after I broke her for the first time it was a lot easier for me. I got used to the conditions here last night, playing doubles, but I like the court surface here. It’s like the Kremlin Cup in Moscow, which I’ve won the past two years, so it suits my game."

This is why I want more tourneys on carpet!!! Love playing on carpet...no high bounces, fast, no bouncing sounds, feels smooth and it looks so nice :D

Bring Leipzig back!!!

Look here win/loss stats on all surfaces...letīs make a petition for more carpet tourneys :bounce:

No, no

I hit two aces down the T to go up 30-0, then I hit a DF ( ), then again an ace. Then after two UEs it was Deuce, hit an ace after that where my opponent didnīt move at all cause she thought it would go out but went down the line, AD...I hit a DF again, I hit a winner and then ace. The match was decided by my service with DFs, aces and service winners. Nothing in between :tape: Well my friend also sucks at playing tennis, so . I donīt get how you can play that bad after 4 years of coaching. When I played my best friend lately, I didnīt hit one ace cause she tracked them all down somehow but I was able to put the returns easily away. :D

KOLKATA, India (Reuters) - Russian top seed Anastasia Myskina overcame a minor injury scare to reach the last four of the $170,000 Kolkata Open on Friday and remain on course for her first title of the year.

The 2004 French Open champion, who dropped just one game in each of the first two rounds, began slowly before defeating unseeded Indian Shikha Uberoi 6-4 6-2.

Uberoi, ranked 140 places below her rival, broke Myskina in the third game and went up 3-1 before the favorite rallied with breaks in the sixth and 10th.

The 24-year-old world number 12 later revealed she had started tentatively because of a niggling muscle problem.

"It was more a practice match for me," she said. "I pulled a muscle playing doubles yesterday, but once I was out there today it was getting warm and getting better."

Myskina faces unseeded Estonian Kaia Kanepi, who beat Sybille Bammer of Austria 7-5, 6-3 in another quarter-final.

Nastya beating Lena easily?!? No way...if I had to chose one Russian who I donīt want as Nastyaīs opponent, itīs not Lena D., not Sharapova, not Bepa but Lena L. definetly!

2004 Montreal SF, Nastya played really well but Lena was playing even better. I donīt know what it is with those two but itīs always a real battle.

Sprem is totally slumping right now, she would be a much easier opponent imo.

If any of us fear Sprem it just shows how little confidence we have in Nastya at the moment. For how horrible a season Nastya has had it hasn't been anywhere near as bad as Sprem's. Her ranking has fallen by like 60 spots.

I would much prefer Nastya to play Sprem. But I'd rather have her play Elena just because I like Elena and want her to make the final as well.

I can say it even thousand of times...I have nothing against your beloved Dementieva. I even like her! But I do prefer Nastya playing her or any other Russian than Elena L.

Youīre reading too much into it. I also say that I donīt like to see Nastya playing Kim, Justine or Amelie...I like all those players but the chances of a win are low. Itīs a comment based on facts, not on feelings. I donīt think this is offensive in any way. And yes, I know that Lena and Nastya are great friends and that Lena is a great player who won the Fed Cup all by herself and I really appreciated that. Donīt act so whiny about it  itīs not like I ever said something mean about Lena D. (and the "Nastya beats Lena D. easier than Likhovtseva" doesnīt count)

Itīs 2.30 am here and I am still working on my fucking thesis for ten hours now and the only "face-to-face" communication I had for more than a week, were the cashiers at the supermarket I went to cause I had nothing left to eat in my kitchen. It's only a small tournament and she didn't beat any top players (she can't help it that the other seeded players get ousted early in the tournament, can she?), but I'm still very happy. A few months ago, she wouldn't be able to win this tournament and I tought she would be down after the fed-cup weekend, but fortunately she proved me wrong. "I've been getting better with every match," Myskina said. "After a few games I was able to read her serve, which made it easier for me in the return games. I haven't won a title in a year now, so I'm really hoping I can do it tomorrow."

Myskina defeated Sprem in three sets in their only previous meeting in 2003 Fed Cup play.

"Karolina's a tough player," said Myskina of Sprem. "She's obviously playing with a lot of confidence right now, but I've also had some good results lately, so I'll be going into the final believing I can win."

(AP) -- Anastasia Myskina of Russia won her first title of the year, defeating Karolina Sprem of Croatia 6-2, 6-2 in the final of the Sunfeast Open.

The top-seeded Myskina need only 59 minutes to win her 10th WTA Tour title.

"I'm happy as this win will help my effort to regain a place in the top 10," said the 12th-ranked Myskina.

Myskina took a 4-0 lead in the opening set after breaking Sprem in the second and fourth games. Sprem broke Myskina in the fifth game, but dropped service again in the eighth game to lose the set.

Sprem, ranked 85th, forced a service break in the opening game of the second set, but faltered with her own serve as Myskina took control.

"The victory wasn't easy, I was a bit nervous at the start of the second set as I struggled with my service," Myskina said. "But I managed to break back immediately after dropping my service, and then things went my way."

In the doubles final, Myskina teamed with Elena Likhovtseva for a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Shikha Uberoi of India and Neha Uberoi of the United States.

Ok, I haven't been able to post here for a few days because I spend my time at the fortis championship!
It's so great. I met players I like a lot (far less than Nastya ;) )like Patty  ,Nadia :D , Dinara :) ...
Yesterday I met my coach in the stadium, he introduced me to Kloesel's coach. That was nice :worship: he said to me "hello, I'm Boris", I replied "hi, I'm Romain". Then, my coach told me he had dinner with Razzano!
I was like "why don't you know Nastya or Jens instead  "

I miss Nastya playing. I wish she was in Luxembourg

BTW will Nastya be seeded in Filderstadt? Have you noticed the strong competition between her, Daniela and JelenaJ in the "race to the YEC"? It will be very important for Nastya's next year ranking

Congrats Yee Wah

Thanks

I went to the copy shop and the guy who worked there looked at the title of my thesis and laughed :o ("man, you guys come up with the weirdest stuff...muhahahah")...idiot

Filderdstadt have 8 seeded players so that would mean she is will have to play first round for sure and sheīs not seeded Right now, this is the entry list although I assume Venus and Sharapova will pull out, so that would make Nastya eigth and last seed  Should be like this:

1 Sharapova (???)
2 Clijsters
3 Momo
4 Henin-Hardenne
5 V. Williams (???)
6 Dementieva
7 Petrova
8 S. Williams
(followed by Nastya)

Last year, Patty Schnyder was the unly "9th" seed, she had to play top seed Momo in the second round!

As a tennis fan, youīve gotta LOOOVE Filderstadt...I donīt want anyone to be hurt but damn it, I sure do hope that Nasty will be 8th seed

Thank God!

I hope Nastya gets an extremely tough draw. I want to see what she can do against the best players in the world. I'd rather see her unseeded so she has to prove to all of us that she should be seeded.

Anastasia should be seeded now, Serena and Maria have withdrawn and Lindsay has got a wc, so Nastya should be 8th seed. Venus withdraw after Beijing.

1. Davenport
2.Kim
3. Mauresmo
4. Henin
5.Dementieva
6. Petrova
7. Schnyder
8. Anastasia.

I hope it is Lindsay, I don't think Lindsay is in her best form at the moment & Nastya's confidence is on the way up. I don't want her to play Kim (cause that should be the final:devil: ), I don't want her to face Mauresmo again, & I'd prefer Lindsay to Henin. BUt really whoever she gets in the QF will be tough, but just to get there will be tough, the Filderstadt draw is always very strong, so she has to get to the QF first

I gave some progs to Spunky early this year, but I can't find them now :o
Anyway I'm sure she still has them and when she'll be back from her parents' house she'll give them to you and explain what to do.
