According to WTA's Top 25 Player Schedules (http://www.wtatennis.com/SEWTATour-Archive/Archive/Notes&Netcords/2011/july18.pdf) Yanina will play only two P5 (Toronto & Cincinnati) tournaments as prior US Open 2011. It looks like she withdraw from Mercury Insurance Open (http://www.wtatennis.com/SEWTATour-Archive/Archive/Notes&Netcords/2011/july11.pdf) in Carlsbad, CA between 7/11 and 18/11.

Thanks for notifying!

It's kind of strange. At first she was supposed to play in Stanford, but withdrew. And now San Diego.

But at least she's training, according to her Facebook.

ummm anyone knows whats going on?As Katrin has pointed she has withdrawn for the first two tournaments of the USO series, which is strange because Yanina isnt known for retiring :scared:.I do hope nothing serious has happened,e.g. injury and shell be fine

BTW,on September 12th,TAS will make a resolution about her ban, which happened almost 2 years ago,on November of 2009.She could be suspended for a year,so we will have to wait...and pray :scared:

Here http://tennis.matchstat.com/Player/Yanina%20Wickmayer it says low back (30th week was last week). I think this was the reason she pulled out of Stanford (and probably San Diego too).

But according to her Facebook, she's entitled to play Toronto. Hopefully no more withdrawals:unsure:

Thanks, may that be the reason why she has skipped Stanford and SD.Hope to see her in Toronto, hopefully she is able to play :ugh:

She put on twitter that she is in Toronto :)

She will finally play a tournament!

Toronto, r1 vs Roberta Vinci.

Vinci has been playing well this season. And she beat Yanina on grass before Wimbledon. So, it'll be a tough match. And the winner gets Wozniacki in 2nd round (seems like the draw gods really want them to play:oh:)

Cincinnati: r1 vs Svetlana Kuznetsova

H2H is 1-2, Yanina won in Wimbledon this year. Kuznetsova isn't actually in stunning form, losing to Halep in Toronto. Good luck:)

Well, since Radwanska withdrew, Yanina is playing (Q) Bojana Jovanovski instead.

And doubles with Stephens r1 vs Kops-Jones/Spears.

Wickmayer v. Jovanovski

Only caught the very beginning of this match as I walked by. Only notes I have are that Yanina was really going after Bojana's serve and hit multiple return winners in the three games I watched.

Now she should keep this up for the rest of the tournament.

Lost to Petra Martic 63 26 26 :o

1st set was great.
From there on not so much:o Especially on 3rd set, being up 2-0 40*-15, getting broken and well she didn't win any games from there on:(

Hopefully it'll go much better in Dallas, but I wouldn't hold my breath now:tears:

There's not such a strong draw there than here in Cincinnati, and she will probably be a seed, not that it really matters, cause she loses here to a top 70 player

Her back doesn't bother her too much, but she misses match rhythm and is at "90%".

But a friend of me said she had a medical time out for her back again. She had really problems with it during the second set :scared: I'm worried about that.

WhoAmI?
Aug 30th, 2011, 04:42 PM
Really`? That's not a good news:sad: She really shouldn't play doubles if her back isn't well:o

R2 is winnable, but Kudryavtseva is rather unpredictable (as are her tweets:lol:)

She has pulled out of Beijing. Looks like Luxembourg is the only tournament left on her calendar for this year.

Hopefully she'll get her back problems sorted out before coming back to the competition. (no need to mention Dinara Safina..)
