Right. But the original article (http://www.livetennisguide.com/2011/07/12/foot-injury-forced-serena-williams-to-miss-world-team-tennis-season/) uses all info & dates from 2010. The article uses WTT matchup dates from the 2010 season, and makes no sense when you look at this year's schedule.

Like this is all factually incorrect..
She missed the last Friday’s match against New York Buzz due to foot injury. She was scheduled to play on Tuesday against Philadelphia, on Wednesday against Kansas City Explorers and on Thursday against New York.

Due to absence of Serena Williams, the stadium is offering three to attract fans. The three offers include a free meal; discount on merchandise; $20 off a ticket for a match later this season or a free grandstand seat for the Kastles match against the Boston Lobsters on July 18.

As is them saying "she was forced to miss the season"... when she didnt miss the season because she played 2 of her matches last week. Actually she should be done with WTT right now anyway, she's only playing again on the 19th and 20th to make up for Kim's withdrawal. :o

This article does seem up to date and mentions several current events (Clijster's 2x defending US Open Champ, First Lady attending WTT match last week, etc.). Who knows?

Maybe Serena wants to take more time off. There's just not enough there, to determine how bad her foot is, or if it's truly re-injured. The questions is; what is she going to do in between tournaments? We saw how the Wimbledon experiment went!

And here's the 2010 article which sounds surprisingly similar, no?

Serena DID play in front of the Obamas against the Boston Lobsters last week. And it talks about Kim pulling out of Wimby because of her ankle. The article info is correct.

Who knows anymore?

Uhm, Serena DID play in front of the Obamas against the Boston Lobsters last week. The article info is correct.

No, it's not. Read the article I just linked you to... not the same as what's stated in the OP article. The OP article just copied from Livetennisguide and added in that own info herself.

It also said that Serena missed a scheduled appearance against the New York Buzz, and as you can see.....

www.wtt.com

.....they don't exist anymore.

On the WTT schedule there was never a scheduled match for the Castles on Friday. The article is from last year and had points from last week added in. Reckless journalism

Well, if you wanna know or see lazy journalism in action, besides this (if it's a truly a wrong article); they just came out with their Wimbledon wrap up (10 days later). WTF? In the article the author claimed "Kvitova although seeded 8th she wasn't seen as a genuine contender to make the final let alone go on and beat the favourte Maria Sharapova in straight sets". Those two things says enough for me! Lol.
