Well, in 2011 no one choked and it was quality in the last three finals. Hope some good tennis can happen again at the Flushing Meadows.

1. 2002 because the best tennis player of the generation won 3/4 of the slams that year.
2. 2003 because the 2 best tennis players of the generation won the slams that year.
3. 2005 because the 4 best tennis players of the generation won the slams that year.
4. 2011 because the 2 players I wanted them to win slams this year won a slam finally.
5. 2007 because the 3 best players of the generation showed their successors how to win slam so convincingly.

I read the question literally as if it asks which 4 slam FINALS (not which 4 slams) were collectively the best.

Those of 2003 and 2005 were clearly the best above the other years.

That was the 4 finals of 2005.

Wimbledon was great but the FO&USO titles were NID and duds.

Wimbledon was great but the FO&USO titles were NID and duds. No, those three were great finals and certainly not predicted by everyone BEFORE the matches took place.

Beating Safina is what I call a NID/dud final

LOL at your attempt to side shade me. Sorry that you couldn't see the results from a mile away. Looks like you have a long way to go honey.

In terms of quality of matches, 2008. In terms of drama, importance and closeness of matches 2003.

I think 2008 Wimbledon was the highest quality and 2005 Wimbledon the one with most drama.

2003 had some great finals. The AO final was really high quality.. and fitting. French Open final was shit as usual but the remaining two were alright.

2008 Wimb was one of the highest quality two set matches, along with the USO Final (as much as it pains me to give Junkovic credit). The french Open final was SHIT and the AO final was average.

2003 would have been a perfect blend of quality and drama if Kim hadn't stunk up the joint and fallen flat on her face in the big moments.

Im going to have to with 2008

2008 was wholly entertaining. Watching Sharapova play lights out and Ivanovic raise her level at the AO was brilliant in terms of just competitiveness.

The French Open final was a dud. Glad for the result, obviously, but the quality could have been raised, particularly from Safina's side.

Wimbledon 2008 was the best two set major final I'd seen.

The USO final was also amazing because of the contrasting styles.
