When I say bogey women, I don't mean top players who had/have losing records to other top players who are not as great as them, eg Lindsay Davenport leads Monica Seles 10-3. Monica is clearly greater, but Lindsay is still a top player.

I mean random, much lower ranked players, who aren't really "great". Examples include Pironkova 3-1 over Venus, Na Li 2-0 over Venus, Tatiana Golovin 2-0 over Venus, and Anna Kournikova 3-1 over Jennifer Capriati.

Well Sabine Lisicki is destined to be a great I believe but since she hasn't broken into the top 20,she is still an emerging talent and not a top player yet. I'd say she is a 'bogey woman' for Li Na 2 wins from 2 and Wozniacki 2 wins from 3.

calling a slam champion and a former solid top 20 player not of the same league is kinda odd to me

How is Li Na not great? She won Roland Garros...
But back on topic, I'd say Pironkova since she can beat Venus easily.
Bammer has a positive H2H record against Serena.

Subjective. When I hear great, I think of Nav, Evert, Graf, Serena, Seles, Henin, Venus, Hingis.

Venus is great because she dominated Wimbledon over quite a long period. Hingis is great because of her youngest records.

It's all subjective.

I guess when I think of 'great', I think of iconic tennis players.

i know right, but a slam champion or a top 10 player shouldn't really make much fuss if she owns a great player IMO
either way it should really be amazing the record of Flavia vs Vera/Venus/Sam/Nadia

Really don't understand how someone like Na or Golovin are "random". If it weren't for Kournikova's titleless record even she would be pushing it.

It's players like Bammer, Pironkova that really stand out
