Bastad ballboys and girls are carrying some sort of a net or basket which they use to scoop up tennis balls.
I've never seen such a thing. Does any other tournament do this?

A few tournaments have it. I remember there being a TF thread about it before.

I can't find the picture of the net but i noticed another peculiar thing.
Ball boys and girls bow to the crowd before they take their position.
What nice manners! :)

If it-s like a racquet with a net, it was used in all tournaments played in Austria I remember years ago watching then in Eurosport in ATP and WTA... what I do not remember is if it was used also on clay (Kitzbuehel :hearts: I miss the Alps summer swing with Gstaad and this, great clay tournaments :cheer: ) or only in indoors (Viena and Linz)

Seen them lots of times.
I thought that they were only use by lazy Club players with no Ballbuoys.

These ballnet-thingys have been used in Swedish ATP tournaments for a long time. I guess it´s some sort of tradition that they wanna continue with on the women´s tournaments as well.

Too pratical for my liking.
Clumsiness and mishaps make the charm of ballboys/ballgirls, training these kids to be efficient like a factory worker is just too much:devil:

Whenever I read a thread title with this tournament name in it, I have to will myself to not say/think "Bastard"
It is very tempting..

So no one has a picture of the item? I don't remember from last year, and I've yet to see a match this year.
I, too, like to see cute kids as ballkids, stumbling around a bit.
