In her last 5 Main Draw direct acceptance appearances at grand slams Aiko Nakamura drew a seed in the opening round.

2007 US Open: (5)Ana Ivanovic
2008 Aus Open: (1)Justine Henin
2008 French Open: (4)Svetlana Kuznetsova
2008 Wimbledon: (13)Vera Zvonareva
2008 US Open: (29)Sybille Bammer

Albeit Bammer is not in the same league, it's still a pretty bad set of draws. She only one set in these times, against Vera Z. at Wimbledon.

This tournament I would say Zvonareva, because as defending finalist and #2 seed, she has probably Venus in round of 16.
And Li also. She has Lisicki in round 2.

But it all evens out over time.

Caroline:shrug:

Would have had about 3 slams by now if she weren't that unfortunate with the draws.

:spit:
at least 10 if you ask me:worship:

I think Li has never been lucky with the draws but she obviously finally started to deal with them.
Hantuchova has been quite unlucky, too.

Yeah, someone nasty must have rigged the draw by not pairing Caroline against a local wildcard or qualifier in each round.

:spit:

This Wozniacki whining is groundless as she faced unseeded players in QF and SF en route to her only GS final and a whole bunch of Taiwan players and slumping Sharapova the year after.
Rossana de los Rios.
Her draws at slams are ... what everyone gets.
But her Wimbledon draws are ..:sad:
and she has lost to:
2000 - R1 Tanasugarn
2001 - R1 Dokic (16)
2002 - R2 Seles (4)
2003 - R1 Clijsters (2)
2008 - R1 Ivanovic (1)
2009 - R2 Safina (2)
2010 - R1 V.Williams (2)

7 such draws in whole 9 participations :help:

She must be theCursedWimbledonGOAT !

Greta Arn in slams since she regularly makes it to the MD:

2010 Wimbledon [34] K Bondarenko
2010 US Open [2] Radioactive Kim
2011 Oz Open [29] MJMS
2011 Frech Open [9] Kvitova
2011 Wimbledon [11] Petkovic - had to withdraw

Will this ever end.

yah... I mean LI Na's draw is always not easy, but not tough or unlucky and she can always go through it...

Petkovic is the unluckiest one, she always has to face a bunch of low-ranked opponents, and we all know how much pressure one can feel in those no-excuse-to-lose matches. My sympathy!

OMG... You can't complain about Azarenka's opponents and draws... She's among the lucky ones...
Daniela Hantuchova is the most unlucky player with the draws.

Same thing this year.
