Notable remarks:

[1]Caroline Wozniacki is guaranteed to be # 1 until 8/01 week, which will extend her reign at the top spot to at least 42 weeks (= 9th longest-serving # 1)
[7]Serena Williams (Champion 2010) will need a RU for Top 40 spot.
[2]Vera Zvonereva (Runner Up 2010) will need a RU to leave Kim Clijsters (QF 2010) behind.
If [2]Vera Zvonereva does not make it F, [3]Li Na (QF 2010) will need Championship to bypass Kim Clijsters
[8]Petra Kvitova (SF 2010) advanced from # 34 at season end into Top 10 spot.
If [10]Samantha Stosur will advance to R3 and lower ranked players don’t move into final four, [11]Andrea Petković will need QF to grab Top 10 spot.
[32]Tsevtana Pironkova (SF 2010) will need QF for Top 50 spot.
If [17]Kaia Kanepi (QF 2010) will not advance to QF, it’s very unlikely that she will stay within Top 20.
Even a SF is not enough for [23]Venus Williams (QF 2010) to advance into Top 20.
Noteworthy ranking improvements from Top 40 players in 2011: Li Na (# 11), Petra Kvitova (# 34), Svetlana Kuznetsova (# 27), Andrea Petković (# 32), Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (# 21), Julia Goerges (# 40), Shuai Peng (# 72), Bethanie Mattek-Sands (# 59), Lucie Hradecká (# 111) & Anabel Medina Garrigues (# 73).
Noteworthy ranking deterioration out of Top 40 in 2011 (Season End rank 2010 in brackets): Shahar Pe'er (# 13), Nadia Petrova (# 15), Aravane Rezaď (# 19), Jie Zheng (# 26) & Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (# 28).

Two major adjustments after day two:

With the earliest exit of Samantha Stosor, Andrea Petković, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova & Agnieszka Radwańska will compete for her Top 10 spot. Each of those four player will bypass Sam with a R4.
Shahar Pe'er is definitely out of Top 20. The women to beat is currently Daniela Hantuchová, but Flavia Penetta, who did not open her Wimbledon campaign yet, is in pole-position.

@MUGSHA SUCKS: After day three it looks like that Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova needs a SF for Top 10.

After day four, there are only two main competitors left to grab Top 10 spot currently hold by Samantha Stosur: If Andrea Petković will beat Ksenia Pervak today, she will bypass Sam. Svetlana Kuznetsova will need one additional match to overtake Andrea.

If Caro gets into the final she will have over 11000 points while number 2 will only have around 7600 points. Thats a very nice lead ;)

26. Kaia Kanepi (EST) 1,911

Can you break down Kanepi's ranking points for me? I've been getting 1 pt too much for a while; which result is it that doesn't count??

She was qualified for the 2010 Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions in Bali but withdrew due to injury. This gave her a mandatory 0 points which currently pushes 1 point out of her 16 counting results. At the time in 2010 it pushed out 30 points.
