As if the last 2 albums didn't do it already!:banghead:

Linkin Park have started work on the follow-up to 2010's 'A Thousand Suns' and have said they believe their fifth studio album will 'polarize' people.

Speaking to Kerrang!, singer Chester Bennington has also said the band address a plethora of "serious issues" in their new songs.

He said: "We've been working on a new record for the past two months. The music is great and we're well ahead of where we're expecting to be. There aren't a whole lot of noises going on, but there are a lot of good songs. It will probably get a very polarized reaction. Which pleases me. As an artist, I want a reaction."

The singer added that the band would be looking to tackle controversial topics on their new album, rather than the more personal subjects of their older material.

Bennington added: "We've learned how to write serious songs and serious lyrics. We've learned how to deal with politics, faith and other things. Those are things that can get preachy really quickly, which we don't want to do. So you need to learn to talk to people and not at people."

I don't think the lyrics are the problem :o
It's the almost-always-same beats that is so outdated.

lol.

I am worried if their new album will be even more further from their old sound as A Thousand Suns. I do like plenty of songs on it but it took a while to grow on me.

There aren't a whole lot of noises going on

I knew it, it's 12 tracks of them breathing into the microphone. That was the only direction to go in after A Thousand Suns. Instant non-buy, of course.

They're not as good as their first two but they're not that bad either - they're just different than their first two. They've both sold pretty well, gone #1 in many countries including US etc.

Minutes to Midnight was a balance of their old rock sound and their more electronic sound, while A Thousand Suns was rather experimental and almost all the rock element was gone.

I know that's your opinion. I thought they've recorded some of the best songs, whose lyrics beat even some of the best in our present times. Hmmm one of my favorites is this one (lyrics in that song are so true):

They're down there with Nickelback as 2 of my most disliked bands.

See, to me thats Coldplay. Can't stand them, and would rather listen to tap water dripping than them.

I like Linkin Park, just not their latest album. The one before was awesome to me; and Hybrid Theory is still one of my favorite albums.
