To all the people anticipating an all-Williams Final, they both will flop before the Semis. Masha will win the title (beating Caro, Sabine and Vika).

You heard it here first :D

Not exactly a bold prediction, both the WS have very tough quarters. Serena will have to get through Bartoli and Na, Venus Will have to beat JJ,Vera and Kvitova.

Bartoli and Zvonareva are no threats.

Bartoli is really playing well, she IS a threat.

Bartoli and Zvonareva are no threats.

Bartoli IS a threat. She is in very good form and she has these random days where her flat serve doesnt miss a line. She can be VERY tough to beat if that happens; especially since she plays very well on grass.

Vera can play very well on grass too, if she plays like she did against Serena, after the first set (where her forehand REFUSED to miss, had amazing depth and moved the ball around really well) she will be tough to beat too.

Plus its not like the WS are playing very well.

The draw is fair. Its true Maria doesnt have to play a title contender before the semis.
Li and Serena are in Maria's half. That semi should be huge
Then Venus/Petra/Vika/Vera.

No one really stands out. It looks like Maria/Li/Serena/Venus are probable winners,
Petra/Vika/Vera are with chances

Putting MORE pressure on her shoulders with no grass court preparation, LOL.

And she has never played well with expectations of being a favorite, lol

Wouldn't shock me if Sharapova has a nervous 2nd Round with Laura Robson, who would be so eager for a big win over homecrowds. LOL :lol:

Either way, Wozniacki is the best player in that quarter, and she will get thru to the final (unless Serena plays her best).

Yeah, I'm sure Maria reads TF and is well aware of the ''pressure'' we supposedly put on her shoulders :p

Venus has no real threats on grass, excerpt maybe her nemesis Jankovic, but I expect her to reach the final.
Sharapova won't beat Na or Serena

In ideal circumstances, you might be right.

However, we have to consider that (1) Venus and Serena just came back to the tour after long breaks, and that (2) the tennis gods once more gave Sharapova a dream draw (Chakvetadze? Kerber? Safarova? Stosur/Peng? really?).

Maria's fans have got to be the most irrationally overconfident group on this board. What has she done in the last five years on grass to make anyone think she's the favorite to win the title? Venus and Serena might not make the semis because they're rusty but that doesn't mean Maria will win in their absence. It's the same thing as the French when all of her fans were telling us she was going to win.

Generalizing much? Just cuz certain ''fans'' say certain things doesn't mean all her fans think the same.
