Ridiculous. Sam how on earth...
Great fightback from 4-2 down in the 2nd set and holding that crazy 11 deuces game, then from 4-2 in the TB :worship:

There is always at least one player in a semifinal lineup that I just do not like. I was hoping Vera could win, and she was playing by far superior tennis until 64 *43, but then Sam stopped making as many dumb errors and basically cruised from there.

Fail Vera. Sam was playing crap for the first two sets, missing the most routine shots and you still couldn't finish it off.

Congratulations Sam.

Lol, Sam has won their two meetings this year simply because Sammy has some mental edge. Not particularly pretty, but for a grass court and that level of wind, it can only be seen as a positive.

Good luck in the semis!

But she can't cope mentally when she plays Sam.

I don't get people here...again. Vera just beat Serena yesterday after more than 3 hours and now she is "joke"? The fact is that Vera played not bad at all, Sam just step it up in the last games of the 2nd set and Vera naturally was tired in the 3rd set after almost 6 hours in windy Eastbourne. This is was a good tournament for her and she can be force in Wimbledon, this is the most important thing for her.

I am a huge Bepa fan, I'm just sad that she choked when she had the upper hand.
But honestly you shouldn't be surprised if there are nasty comments on here, some posters are very rude and disrespectful.

WTF is this? Seriously. How do you go from coming back from two points from a straight-sets defeat against Serena Williams one day, to choking against Samantha bloody STOSUR the next? :spit: This should actually be a very good match-up for Zvonareva, ESPECIALLY on a grass court on a very windy day (Zvonareva's excellent footwork vs Stosur's huge backswings)... bizarre.

Very entertaining match given the conditions. Unbelievable defence from Zvonareva in that point in the tiebreak when she got back two of Sam's smashes - I was sure Vera would win at that point.

I suspect you'll be waiting a while tbh - she's already #6 in the Race (and guaranteed to overtake Kim during Wimbledon), and she always does better in the second half of the season.

Although Zvonareva was in the Wimbledon final last year I still don't like the way she plays on grass (or on clay). I think she had problems with Stosurs slice and top spin although it isn't that dangerous on grass...
Nice fight, good serve, nice attitude from Zvonareva.
But she (so did Stosur) was far from her best.

Stosur played very agressive right from the beginning and all through the match. Of course as usual she had to make some stupid UEs. But really well deserved to win Stosur:worship: Best match of the tournament by far:bounce:

She always finds a way to overcome Bepa's tenacity.
The diciding game in 2nd set (11 Deuces ) should have been yours Vera. Missing 3 bps, esp the lob that's been much too short was just :hysteric:

I hope she recovers soon physically for Wimbledon and her pts defending trip there ...

Zvonareva´s garbage year continues. I´ll bet against Stosur from round one in Wimbledon I don´t even care, who she plays. She is awful on grass. Is she playing Bartoli next? That will be one big beatdown.

Zvonareva was just as awful against a rusty and exhausted Serena. On paper the results don´t look that bad, but in the form of 2010, she would have won both matches in straight sets, something like 6-3 6-4.
