Certainly more embarassing than if Serena wins Wimbledon this year. Is that the first time ever ? How much lower can the WTA go ?

it is not the first time ... same thing at Australian Open this year where the top 2 slamless girls made it to the SF but then were both favored to lose the SF

What?

Wozniacki and Na Li was 50/50, there was never a true favorite in that match.

At least it's not like the 2010 French Open and Wimbledon where slam winners like Sharapova and Henin were outside the top 10, resulting in a messed up draw.

The bookies all favored Li Na. Thus she was the favorite for that match, albeit only a slight one.

Bookies favored Na Li, Experts favored Wozniacki, or at least a good bit of them.

Bookies won that day, but barely as expected.

It simply indicates that either the slam winners do not win normally or do not play an entire season (either by choice or injury).
