I am absolutely in love with this girl. She is an amazing singer and she just cracks me up when she's giving interviews. She has a great sense of humour.

Anyone else a fan of her already?? Who has even heard of her. Wondering how popular is she worldwide??

Singles she has released so far.

She is quite good and can sing live(hard to believe it's the same woman who wrote "Party in the USA" for Cyrus though :o)

She's not that great a singer actually, but I like "Pricetag".

She's not that great a singer actually, but I like "Pricetag".

Really? She has impressive vocal dexterity, better than average range and enough power. I just really hate the tone of her voice and her music.

She kind of flopped in the US though.:( Too bad.
She's also another Lady Gaga I guess. They both can sing, can write, but no one will ever notice them if they sell their music in a 'normal' way, hence the unique fashion, singing and music.

So far her singles have all tackled something people can relate to: gender equality, money, and self-confidence.
It sounds cheesy for my liking.

No doubt they are catchy, she has a voice, but she's just next in line of the latest girl pop stars.
Many call her the best newcomer UK has to offer this year. I beg to differ.

I don't think her voice in Nobody's perfect is radio-friendly but she's very raw & I like her

Who would be the better newcomer from the UK this year?

i think it's nice pop music, nothing more, nothing less. but the lyrics are quite bad :o

She kind of flopped in the US though.

huh? her album reached no. 11 and "price tag" no. 4 in the billboard charts. that's pretty good for a british artist's debut, i think.

Well she became Sound of 2011 which is normally a good prospect as other winners like Adele, Mika and Ellie Goulding all had a lot of success, but for me her album sounds a bit dull, I only like the singles so far. She also can't compare to other British talents like Florence, Marina or Coco who all have something special which she lacks IMO.

CocknBullKid. She's not really new, but her debut album is just a feast for the ears.
To another extent, Katy B is kinda good, but vocally I don't think she holds up to Jessie J.

I'm becoming a big fan of hers. I love watching her interviews, she seems like a really interesting person.

:o Have you watched any of her live vids on yt? She definitely has a good voice.

Just looking at the comments, its a lot easier to criticise someone than to find something positive. If you go by what is said on this forum, there are almost no good singers now, its already a big compliment if they have a decent voice.

Surprisingly, she's actually a great vocalist. It's just a shame that the singles she's released are awful and don't showcase her talent enough.

So good news for Jessie as she is up for 5 MOBO awards (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2032408/MOBO-Awards-2011-Jessie-J-leads-pack-Mobo-Award-nominations.html), beating Adele who has 4 nominations.

Jessie and Adele will battle it out in 3 categories.

I love this pic of her @ VMA's

Yeah I know. :p I think they should've made it higher, she wasn't comfortable singing that low.

I felt sorry for her at the VMAs, sitting down(yes I know she was injured) and getting to sing only at breaks inbetween was kinda sad :sobbing:

Though I have to give her props for actually sounding better than Katy Perry while singing Firework.

Domino is probably her catchiest since "Price Tag".

On the other hand it kind of shamelessly borrows from Kitty Purry, a lot. :p
