View Full Version : Get ready for grass!

Enough with the clay, bring on the grass already! :cheer:

Aga's schedule:
Eastbourne + Wimbledon

Ula's schedule:
Birmingham + Wimbledon

I hope I'm not wrong but Aga should be seeded around #13 at Wimbledon. That means she could get Caro, Kim, Vera or Vika/Na/Masha in the 4th round. Not bad when you think she could've been facing (two of) Vika/Na/Masha, Petra and Fran. Maybe her loss to Maria will turn out be better for her draw at Wimbledon.
Yeah I'm trying to find some positive sides of this whole situation.

Anyway, good luck girls. Hope grass will bring back your confidence ;)

Aga's seeding is not certain as it is still unknown whether Williams sisters will be seeded or not and if they will, what will their seeding be. Considering Aga's luck in Wimbledon draws, one of them will be waiting for her sooner or later :p

I hope they won't bump Serena to top 4. Amongst Wozniacki, Zvonareva, Li and Clijsters I wouldn't mind Aga drawing Li who will for sure have another letdown after a good slam result, Clijsters who might be beaten by another juvenile top 200 girl and Wozniacki who might actually fall for Aga's tricks on grass.

Up a break in 3rd set 4*-3..bad tb it seems

http://s43.radikal.ru/i102/1106/9e/3ca66fb2bc15.jpg (http://www.radikal.ru)

This was a fun match to watch, lots of long rallies, some nice use of slice and drop shots from both players and even some net play.

The first set was tighter than the scoreline suggests but Kvitova couldn't maintain the rallies and most points seemed to end with her errors. After that she was a lot sharper and started hitting a lot more winners that even Radwanska had no chance of chasing down.

Third set was a bit up and down mainly because that's when the wind got really bad and stayed very close until Radwanska's game fell apart in the tie break.

Bartoli stood at the side of the court in the entrance passage watching most of the last two sets which I thought might be a bit disconcerting for them as they couldn't really miss seeing her the whole time but they didn't seem to care.

From Pavlyuchenko blog yesterday:

Ohh and of course, there was a lot of girly/fun chat in the locker room while I was with the physio between me, Aga Radwanska and Li Na. It was lots of laughs, really! It was about shopping, make-up and nails, nails, nails, nails! Aga and I are both crazy about nails!

I don't feel my legs anymore...
But we have to remember that Cetkovska is a player who has already defeated some very good ones, such as Dementieva and Bartoli. So it's disappointing, but that is sport...
Each time Aga loses, I hope she will find something positive in the loss.

Now, she MUST win the tournament in doubles ;P

There is a hole in my heart because Aga had an amazing draw to reach the QF and a showdown with Serena....its like shell never have a draw this good again.:tape:
You always have to hope that since she lost early, this will force her to stop and think about EVERYTHING. Maybe its not necessary to fire her father, but rather add on another coach. There is nothing worse than family conflict and I think that this enormous slump that Aga seems to be stuck in is a direct result of the terrible relationship she has with Robert. I really hope they can sit down and work things out for the benefit of their family as well as Agnieszka's career.
It is so hard to be a die-hard fan of our Polish Princess, but I hope this is just another chapter in a long and successful career for our dear Lady Aga. :)

adner
Jun 23rd, 2011, 08:32 PM
If anything, she could stop acting like she's some elite GOAT and start playing a normal 11-20 player schedule, not just dancing around the Premier and GS. This could give her some match practice and confidence - something that R32-QF losses will not give her in any way.

Caipirinha Guy
Jun 23rd, 2011, 09:01 PM
No. The more she plays the more injured she gets. So this schedule is good.

adner
Jun 23rd, 2011, 09:11 PM
What's the point of being injure-free if she can't win important matches anyway? ;) She'll have a month of break now. Why wouldn't she play a small tournament +3 big ones instead of going for 4 big tournaments in a row?

I agree. I'd love to see her play Washington instead of Stanford for example. She needs to get her confidence back and maybe playing smaller tournaments will help her. Her career has been stuck in one place since 2009.

Ar. Rodionova/U. Radwanska vs. Krajicek/Safarova

Arina was the best player on the court. She was hitting her FH really well and was by far the most superior in the forecourt although Radwanska played a good service game to close out the match. She held her own much better at the net than I thought she would too.

I know they beat Hantuchova/Radwanska at Roland Garros but Krajicek/Safarova doesn't really seem to be the most well-thought through team in the world. They didn't look that impressive even when they were returning Arina and Urszula's somewhat lightweight serves. They didn't communicate with each other and there were two occasions when Arina played a rallying shot deep down the centre but Lucie and Misa just stood there, expecting the other to play it back.

Aga's explanation to loss to Cetkovska:sad:

Well I already after the game wound up in the garage. That can tell at a glance. This has already gone down with me. Anyway, after I went to the locker room at 4:5 in the third set, it was already almost the end of the match for me - said after the defeat of Petra Cetkovska in the second round of Wimbledon Agnieszka Radwanska, who before meeting with reporters in the press center went for a while rented home near the tennis courts.

- It's hard to say which was the decisive moment, because I actually ran all the time, in the second and third set. Surely I should not have to lose, the more that it's nothing special did not. Sure, as per your capacity, she played great, but that does not change the fact that I collapsed. I did not feel that a little tennis, the ball bounced once fast, once slow. Well, we had the same conditions, so it does not excuse me - said the Pole.

- I do not want gdybać and wonder what would happen if the rain did not fall then. Although I lost the first two balls and a game, it soon after it broke in 6:5, no and again I lost the application. No tie-break and after it ran 2-0 and 5-4, maybe not high, but still I was not so much. She played just solid, bold and somewhat risky, and I do not think I did anything to close the match - she added.

- There's no denying that this defeat hurt me, because neither game was not on a big level, nor is it particularly good competitor, though it may have a super day. I should not lose this match and that's it. There's nothing to do with the absence of my father - said the Pole, which was accompanied in London (in place of his father and trainer Robert Radwanski) Polish national team captain in Fed Cup competition Wiktorowski Thomas.

In this year's Wimbledon, in his 125th edition, Murray starts even in doubles, along with Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova (No. 13). In the first round of doubles will face Austrians Sandra Klemenschits and Tamira Paszek. The match was to be held in the evening, but was canceled and moved to the next day.

- Tomorrow I have probably passed a bad mood, and normally I go to court. But doubles is not what is single - she added.
