Good luck Sabine!
2011 French Open18majors May 17th, 2011, 01:44 PM Good luck Sabine! Michael! May 17th, 2011, 03:14 PM 1st q- round: Lisicki vs. Arruabarrena That Spanish girl had some nice results lately, but still, Sabine has to win this match, good luck! Sabine Lisicki GER (8) vs. Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino ESP Cagla Buyukakcay TUR vs. Olga Savchuk UKR Elena Bogdan ROU vs. Michelle Larcher De Brito POR Madison Brengle USA vs. Sophie Ferguson AUS (16) could have been tougher  good chances to qualify, that really should be her goal! Geekking May 17th, 2011, 03:30 PM could have been tougher and it depends on Sabine's tennis. Her opponent has a good record on clay but Sabine is more experienced and has a better tennis compared to her. If she plays with Çağla Büyükakçay I won't take a side  crazillo May 17th, 2011, 03:38 PM She should win easily. S.T.A.R. May 17th, 2011, 03:41 PM Good draw :bounce: Qualification should be possible :yeah: 18majors May 17th, 2011, 04:11 PM Can Michelle Larcher De Brito be a tough out for Sabine? Lisickinator May 17th, 2011, 04:42 PM Sabine will play tomorrow at 10 am 18majors May 17th, 2011, 04:46 PM ^All the best, Sabine! Sabinator. May 17th, 2011, 04:52 PM Go Sabine! For the MD! :bounce: 18majors May 17th, 2011, 06:54 PM Sabine on Facebook: Had a good day in Paris. The weather was really nice today and I had a good hit with Agnieszka! The draw for the Q for Roland Garros is out and I´m playing against Arruabarrena from Spain. I´m playing tomorrow first match at 10o´clock on court no6. I hope to see many of you out there! :)) Sabinator. Mike81 May 17th, 2011, 11:43 PM Hope she's refreshed now and can play her best tennis, her opponents could be tricky otherwise. I don't want to see her miss out on another Main Draw! GO Sabine! :cheer: cosmoose May 18th, 2011, 02:16 AM I don't want to jinx her, but she can't ask for better quali draw than what she got. Now its Bine's turn to take care of business. Dorien. May 18th, 2011, 12:05 PM Really a great start against a tough clay player. :) Michael! May 18th, 2011, 01:35 PM Great start for Sabine, the Spanish girl wasn´t an easy first match at all but Sabine obviously played a good match! Great on 1st serve, good on return, no BPs for her opponent, all good! well, all good except the low 1st serve percentage, Sabine can´t be satisfied with that at all, but that is a general problem of her, it should be at least around 60%, today she was on 46% 1st serves in, but well, that shouldn´t be a big problem in Q, next up is Savchuk then Bogdan or Ferguson, Sabine can only beat herself here, good luck for the next rounds! :) Sasja May 18th, 2011, 01:50 PM Really nice win for Sabine :) Was a tough 1st round draw. Good luck in the next round :cheer: Carsten May 18th, 2011, 03:42 PM Good, easy win :) She should really qualify... Michael! May 18th, 2011, 04:10 PM Sabine plays tomorrow 2nd match after 10am (Daniilidou vs. Zec first) on court 17! S.T.A.R. The first job isn't done yet, which is to get in the Main Draw. She may tweet more if she gets into the MD, which she should :D Rovegun May 19th, 2011, 12:45 PM well done Sabine! a lot of points to gain and hopefully she will raise them after making MD... good luck in next match too! S.T.A.R. May 19th, 2011, 12:45 PM :bounce: 18majors May 19th, 2011, 12:50 PM Good win and good luck next round! Sabinator. May 19th, 2011, 01:06 PM Next round against Elena Bogdan. I don't know what to expect, because she's very young and dangerous. She beated de Brito in 3 sets and Ferguson in 2  But Sabine is already very experienced and she should win this and get into MD! :bounce: 18majors May 19th, 2011, 01:16 PM To win 3 matches and qualify is never easy but my sense is Sabine will do well in the MD if she qualifies. Michael! May 19th, 2011, 01:48 PM Pretty solid win for Sabine, Savchuk isn´t a no name, so the scoreline is definitely OK, not OK was her weak 2nd serve i 2nd set and the fact that she got broken at *53 in 2nd set, she often gives away her leads to easily...well, as I said, even average performances should be enough to qualify here, now against Bogdan, who had two pretty good wins here but never had any impressive results before, 2nd serve is the weak point of Bogdan, Sabine has to stay aggressive and she has to serve well, she also is the more experienced player, shouldn´t have any bigger problems here to qualify, good luck! Mike81 May 19th, 2011, 01:58 PM Yeah she had me a little worried after being 5-2 up and then only 5-4 and wasting mp's but overall the stats look decent. Sabine's tweet: I won63 64!! Playing vs Bogdan tomorrow. Don't really know her... Still looking forward to playing tomorrow again! Thx for all the support! Neither do I. Hope she will have a plan should this match get tight. No time for hiccups in last qually round. 18majors May 19th, 2011, 02:05 PM It would be great to see Sabine play FO MD! Dorien. That is digusting. I want to see Sabine,Julia or Andrea do a job on Push Wozniacki. Come on Sabine, stay healthy and stay strong. :wavey: 18majors May 20th, 2011, 06:06 PM Sabine will go deep if she plays the way she beat Na Li at Stuttgart. Mike81 May 20th, 2011, 07:31 PM Don't know much about Amanmuradova but funny that if she wins she'd likely play Zvonareva in R2 again like in 2010 U.S. Open. She's certainly capable of knocking a high ranked player out. C'mon Sabine! :bounce: 18majors May 20th, 2011, 09:46 PM Sabine is in much better form now than 2010 US Open. The results will be different. Mike81 May 21st, 2011, 04:33 AM Sabine is in much better form now than 2010 US Open. Not so great in the 2nd, but through to Round 2 and in the top 100 That's something to celebrate! :hearts::kiss::cool::bounce::bigclap::cheer: :smooch: Michael! May 23rd, 2011, 02:16 PM Good result, good fight in 2nd set, good statistics...except (as always) her 1st serve percentage, not even 40% in, no comment, improve it against Vera :shout: well done :) Mike81 May 23rd, 2011, 02:25 PM Surprised the 2nd set was as tough it was. Amanmuradova's stats were horrendous in the 1st set. Sabine was making numerous winners and almost no errors, then the errors started mounting up in the 2nd. Hope someone who saw the match may give a report... Sabine still a bit up and down but she'll know the focus must be sharper against a far stronger opponent in the next round. S.T.A.R. I guess she knows she has to play better to beat players like Zvonareva (she had 61% against Cibulkova and Li Na). hellas719 May 24th, 2011, 02:49 AM Well done Sabs! Mike81 May 24th, 2011, 10:11 AM The sound Sabine's racket produces when she hits the ball is one of the most amazing on the tour; she hits so cleanly and flat, she can produce so much power just with her natural strenght. The match was just about Akgul being overpowered from the baseline; Sabine's serve was impressive too. In the second set, Lisicki started to hit more and more unforced errors and a few double faults too, giving Akgul the chance to lead 4*-3, but on clay, Akgul's serve is not as impressive as on hardcourts, especially since Lisicki was obliging herself to step into the court to return her opponent's first and second serves. Lisicki was really happy with her win, once again smiling and taking pictures with everyone, the only girl to do that so far in that MD competition. From *Jean* in the 'Jean's Roland Garros notes and comments' thread on General Messages. Good to read about the match and particuarly good the last comment :) 18majors May 24th, 2011, 11:15 AM Sabine is clearly one of a few WTA power players. Sabinator. Then I did an interview for Eurosport and an autograph session :) As you can see I got a slightly different hair style... That was what I was asked most about today... haha Well, I hope you like it too :) I´m playing tomorrow 4th match on court no 1 - THE Arena (in German we say Stierkampfarena). Mike81 May 25th, 2011, 12:33 PM I believe she can win, not just play well. Zvonareva isn't in peak form and Sabine has confidence of recent wins over high ranked players. If Sabine could cause an upset there's a good chance of going quite far here. C'mon Sabine! :) crazillo May 25th, 2011, 02:51 PM If she can win the first set, I like her chances. Geekking May 25th, 2011, 06:41 PM If Sabine wins this match she has a huge chance to reach next rounds! Come on Sabine come on!! Dorien. May 25th, 2011, 07:24 PM She played such a good match. I feel so bad for Sabine  I hope she is ok... I feel the same... Sabine played so well and deserved to win the match... she had some chances before her injury but what happend after is horrible... hope she will be fit and make quick recovery now it´s the most important thing... who cares if she could play R3 being healthy is the most important... Geekking May 25th, 2011, 07:34 PM I'm so sad for her illness and lost. I hope you she is ok. She showed an amazing tennis and proved that she is almost back. She deserved to win the match but poor Sabine, she couldn't use the match points because of her illness.. I'm so worried for her health at the moment, seeing her tears made me almost dead. She is the champion of our hearts! Sasja May 25th, 2011, 07:34 PM Sabine :bigcry: So sad to watch the end of the match. She had done so well up to 5-2 and even had a MP. Zvonareva knew she got out of jail there. 18majors May 26th, 2011, 12:13 AM Don't worry, she will be ready for 2011 Wimbledon and she will do better than 2009. Mike81 May 26th, 2011, 01:33 AM ^^ Like the positive thinking! I guess it's just so disappointing that she got knocked out the way she did at FO, if she had of made R3, I fancied her chances to go deep in the draw. I didn't lose any support or respect for her due to the exit, just gutted for her and worried about her health. Still by far my favourite player in WTA! Sabine :smooch: 19Christian87 May 26th, 2011, 09:41 AM :awww: that was really sad  mk27 May 26th, 2011, 09:55 AM Hi everyone, I had a great tournament and a very good match against Vera. Unfortunately it didn´t go my way but I still have a lot of positive things that I take out of this match! I´m sad that my body let me down. Doctors recently discovered that I´m intolerante to Gluten- meaning I can´t eat e.g. pasta. One of the biggest energy sources... My body needs to adjust to the big change and needs some time. Its good that we found out and it will only make life better in the long run! Thanks for all the nice messages! I´m ok and excited to continue my good play on the grass. http://www.sabinelisicki.com/news-reader/items/roland-garros-2011.php mk27 May 26th, 2011, 10:16 AM She has withdrawn from the ITF tournament in Nottingham. Next tournament should be WTA-Birmingham and then Wimbledon qualifying. Nina. May 26th, 2011, 11:05 AM Very sad end after she played so well :awww: But it's great to hear from her already. Doesn't Djokovic do this Gluten-free diet now? She should ask him for advice. Geekking May 26th, 2011, 11:07 AM I'm not a doctor but she said she can't eat e.g of pasta because of gluten protein. This may refer she is having celiac disease  Btw, symptoms of this disease can be seen in other disease but if she is a celiac disease this means she has to continue her life with a special diet and special foods. She mustn't eat foods which made of wheat, barley, rye and oats.. This will change her eating habits completely. But on the other hand this way of eating will make her more energetic, more sharp and strong.. She will start to feel better! If you are interested about this disease you can check research articles and some videos: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1323300/ http://bit.ly/gPt2Hr http://bit.ly/lAIOyl http://bit.ly/iHwlii Btw, yes Djokovic also follows this gluten free diet.. Mike81 May 26th, 2011, 11:29 AM So good to read a positive update from Sabine :) Important that they discovered her Gluten problem now and she can make the adjustments needed to her diet. May not be easy to adjust but there's plenty of information out there. 18majors May 26th, 2011, 12:28 PM Sabine will be like Djokovic today once she containes her Gluten problems. 18majors May 26th, 2011, 12:29 PM It's nice to know that there aren't any ligngering effects from yesterday. hellas719 Jun 2nd, 2011, 05:31 AM Sabs  Sp!ffy Jun 2nd, 2011, 05:35 AM Are food allergies common?
