Sabine´s Quarter:

(7)Stefanie Voegele (SUI) v Maria Irigoyen (ARG)
Marina Erakovic (NZL) v Laura Siegemund (GER)

Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) v Ekaterina Bychkova (RUS)
(2)Sabine Lisicki (GER) v (Q)Sina Haas (GER)

Singles Main Draw (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=19521859&postcount=83)

She should reach QF without any problems, then Vögele or Erakovic could be a bit tougher but as I said before, it would be disappointing if she doesn´t win the title here, that has to be her goal for sure! good luck! :)

Doubles Main Draw

(1)Erakovic/Stephens (NZL/USA) v BYE
Lisicki/Tomljanovic (GER/CRO) v Mayr/Mayr (ITA/ITA)

May 11th, 2011, 12:49 PM
Nice result! :) I'd never heard of her opponent, but great start Sabine

May 11th, 2011, 02:00 PM
Easy start for Sabine, similar to her 1st round Result of Prague......
well, this time she hopefully reaches QF , opponent in 2nd round is Cadantu, who beat Bychkova!
Cadantu is close to the top 200 and had some really good results lately, but of course only at smaller challenger tournaments, should be another 2 sets victory for Sabine! :)

Don´t know, Sabine would have to play 5 matches on 5 days here, and RG quali starts next week and we all know that Sabine isn´t the fittest player on tour, she often needs some bigger breaks in between matches, so I wouldn´t be too surprised if she would tank later that week but hopefully she feels fresh enough and is able to play a few more matches in a row...:p

May 11th, 2011, 02:31 PM
Good start :)

May 11th, 2011, 07:02 PM
solid win :) R2 shouldn't be that easy, but she should win it comfortably, too! :)

May 11th, 2011, 07:12 PM
Good luck on R2, Sabine!

May 12th, 2011, 01:28 PM

Sabine won the Family Circle Cup at Charleston, it's hot down there.

Yeah I know. So she should be fine with the heat, better than the cold in Prague

May 12th, 2011, 02:57 PM
Lisicki d. Cadantu 6-2 3-1 rtd

Congratulations on the win! Good luck on R3.

May 12th, 2011, 02:58 PM
Edit: beat me to it 18majors!

Well another win for Sabine :) job not done yet though.

May 12th, 2011, 03:01 PM
^We need to keep Sabine on the spotlight. She deserves it!

May 12th, 2011, 03:10 PM
Yeah this tourney is certainly very winnable obviously for Sabine and she's playing doubles as well so there's plenty of tennis to play. It's good she gets used again to playing so regularly and it's ideal preparation for Roland Garros where she'll need to play 3 qualifying matches in a short space of time to make the MD.

These ITF's a hard to follow as a fan, I can't see any livescoring for this event but I'm still excited that Bine might win an event even if only ITF.

May 12th, 2011, 03:33 PM
^Sabine will pick up 70 ranking points and move to No. 118 if she wins the tournament.

May 12th, 2011, 03:37 PM
^Sabine will pick up 70 ranking points and move to No. 118 if she wins the tournament.

That's what we all want. Can't get ahead of ourselves with Bine, as much as I love her and have confidence in her she's had some surprise losses before but it seems to be going well. Remember not so long ago she slipped to 218?
If she wins then it would be a jump of 100 places within months, not bad

May 12th, 2011, 04:03 PM
Hopefully nothing serious for Cadantu but good for Sabine that she had another easy win today!
Next week is more important for her, it is really important that she qualfies for RG and wins here in Italy definitely help her to gain confidence and matches here are some good practice!

I hope she doesn´t waste too much energy here, that is the only thing I am worried about...but well, she worked on her fitness, so I hope that she will be ready to play a few matches in a row here and then later in Paris, next up is Erakovic or Vögele, for sure toughest match so far here but both should be beatable of course!

May 12th, 2011, 06:06 PM
Keep going Sabine :wavey:

May 12th, 2011, 06:19 PM

May 12th, 2011, 06:44 PM
Sabine ;)

May 12th, 2011, 07:30 PM
I'm so happy Sabine is finally out of the "dog house" that she has inhabited for so long!

May 12th, 2011, 08:40 PM
Sabine also won doubles with Tomljanovic and reached the SF

May 13th, 2011, 09:07 AM

Had a good day in the office yesterday. Won my singles and later in the evening we won our doubles too! Playing second after 1.30pm against Erakovic today.
To some of you who asked, I´m in Reggio Emilia / Italy.
Here is a picture of us after the doubles last night :)

May 13th, 2011, 02:02 PM
Good luck Sabine.

Great news mk27! :bounce::bounce: Thanks a lot :)

May 13th, 2011, 09:17 PM
Well done Sabine :cheer:

May 13th, 2011, 09:19 PM
Through to the semi finals. Sabine

May 13th, 2011, 10:22 PM
Good Win :).
No shame that she lost a set to Erakovic. Stephens will be even harder than Erakovic on clay I guess ;).

May 13th, 2011, 10:37 PM
It's the first semi-final match in a while. Good luck Sabine!

May 13th, 2011, 10:39 PM
Stephens has a powerful FH but Sabine can neutralize that with her own powerful FH. Go Sabine!

May 14th, 2011, 02:04 AM
Surprised she hasn't updated her Facebook or Twitter after a win.. did she play doubles after?

May 14th, 2011, 09:50 AM
Surprised she hasn't updated her Facebook or Twitter after a win.. did she play doubles after?

Yes, but lost the match 6-4 3-6 6-10

May 14th, 2011, 09:54 AM
She lost a set :tape:

May 14th, 2011, 10:22 AM
Surprised she hasn't updated her Facebook or Twitter after a win.. did she play doubles after?

she got to bed after midnight and played doubles in 3 sets so she was very tired....

May 14th, 2011, 10:29 AM
After nearly 3,5h I won my match 6:2 in the third set yesterday. I started cramping in the beginning of the third set but kept on fighting and somehow won! After a break I played doubles and unfortunately we lost in the match tie-breaker. I got back to the hotel after midnight and went straight to bed. Today I´m first match on at 2.30pm against Stephens.

3,5h for a 63 57 62 result in a match between Erakovic and Lisicki??? For sure tons of Deuce games...
well, cramping, doesn´t sound too good, especially with RG quali coming up, wouldn´t be too surprised if she would retire today, but we´ll see...I am sure that she will make the right decision about it!

May 14th, 2011, 10:30 AM
So she lost doubles. Oh well she can solely concentrate on singles. 3 matches in 3 days including a marathon match must be really testing her. I really hope she wins the tournament but the most important thing is staying fit and getting ready for Roland Garros! Only 2 more wins needed though..

May 14th, 2011, 01:32 PM
She should have skipped doubles I guess... Hope she will be fresh enough for RG!

May 14th, 2011, 06:32 PM
No chance against Stephens

(6)Sloane Stephens (USA) d. (2)Sabine Lisicki (GER) 63 63

May 14th, 2011, 06:39 PM
Good luck Sabine at FO!

May 14th, 2011, 06:55 PM

May 14th, 2011, 07:10 PM
36 36 against Stephens is horrible, but after her problems yesterday it was not really surprising, don´t know if she was 100% focused anyway, good that she has one day more rest now before Roland Garros!
She likes the bigger stage anyway, and she will be 100% motivated there for sure but yeah, no more excuses then there, she has to qualify, anything else would be disappointing!

May 14th, 2011, 07:22 PM
Unfortunately I lost 36 36 in the semis. I gave it all I had today but it wasn´t enough. I was too tired. I still had a very good tournament with many matches. That´s what I wanted...:) Now I´ll rest up and get ready for the French Open. I´m already looking forward to that a lot. I simply love the atmosphere at Roland Garros! ♥ :)))

yeah, sounds pretty positive, although she lost, as I said, not really sure if she was 100% motivated, but next week we will see how her real shape is for sure, break should be long enough now to get fit for Paris Q!

May 15th, 2011, 02:29 AM
Sorry to see this result. Was certainly hoping for better from Bine  Clearly yesterday took too much out of her. Winning minor trophies doesn't seem to mean much to her...
If she qualifies for Roland Garros I'll be happy though. She really needs to!

May 15th, 2011, 08:36 AM
Sabine

Good luck at FO :cheer:

May 15th, 2011, 12:20 PM
Expected result. Sloana is very talented american youngster and a good clay courter ;)

May 16th, 2011, 02:41 PM
Good luck Sabine at French Open!

May 16th, 2011, 10:32 PM
Please set a high goal at FO Sabine!
