USA - Hampton/Riske
AUS - Molik/Dellacqua

1. Caroline Garcia
2. Kristina Mladenovic
3. Pauline Parmentier
4. Stephanie Foretz Gacon
5. Severine Beltrame
6. Iryna Bremond (Julie Coin)

I´m not sure that Irina will have a WC as she became French just this year, if not then I´m picking Coin. But Iryna definitely deserves it.

Garcia, Mladenovic and Parmentier are 101% sure IMO.

LMAO @ Sanchez having good results lately. She is 3-11 since October and 6-16 since tournament in Petange in July - those others 3 wins are from Saint Malo, not inculding this tournament, in last 9 months she beat just Ungur, Sherif Ahmed (in 3:spit:) and alwaysinjured Abramovic:p

1. US Reciprocal wildcard - We know this for sure. It is a play-off. Hopefully Riske will win.
2. Australian Reciprocal wildcard - This is sure too. Probably Sophie Ferguson will get it.
3. Pauline Parmentier - Highest Frenchie to miss the cut and she has showed her capabilities in the past.
4. Olivia Sanchez - She has had good results lately so she deserves it.
5. Iryna Brémond - They may be hesitant since she just became French, but she has had very good results since then, so she deserves it.
6. Stephanie Foretz-Gaçon - Top 150.
7. Kristina Mladenovic - FFT likes her and she is still young and has shown her potential.
8. Caroline Garcia - This one is a toss-up but I think she is more deserving than the others.

Same for me. I honestly can't see any other girl at all for a MD WC, even if picking Sanchez or Foretz every year is boring :o
For the QWC, it's too early to say because there are several girls ranked between 180-230 who could enter in the qualifying draw without QWC. It's gonna be wide open this year. I think that Julie Coin is the only one to be pretty safe as a Fed Cup member.

Yeah but Sanchez has a 2nd round to defend  so she'll get a WC for sure.
As for Brémond, the french federation won't be reluctant because she has been living in France for several years, she speaks french perfectly and she claims her love for France in each of her interviews  It would be incomprehensible and stupid from the FFT to not give her one.

yeah but she would win more points lose less if she somehow won a round (or two..who knows..) of qualies instead of getting hammerred anyway in the first round of MD

Foretz actually deserves one too. Yeah she is old but actually she isn´t that hopeless these days + there aren´t 5 more French players who deserves it more IMO;) The last one might be problem Beltrame and Sanchez are really out of form, but I think they will still give it to someone who was TOP 100 in past and not to Bergot, Thorpe, Piquion, Feuerstein, De Gubernatis etc...

Some mentioned comeback players. Lisicki is taking her 3rd or 4th WC at Stuttgart. If she has a decent run at home, she might get one.

For sure :
- Caroline Garcia
- Kristina Mladenovic
- Pauline Parmentier
50%
- Julie Coin who played for french team vs Russia
- Iryna Brémond
30%
- Olivia Sanchez

The last WC for the girl who will get the best results on clay from now if no Sanchez :
Séverine Beltrame, Stéphanie Foretz-Gacon, Laura Thorpe, Nathalie Piquion or Claire Feuerstein.

The other players under support of fft are still too weak for MD, but could have a WC for Qualies.
- Elixane Lechemia
- Alizé Lim

Falconi and Smyczek earn wild cards into French Open

Two young Americans mount comebacks to win French Open Wild Card Playoffs at Boca West Country Club

BOCA RATON—
The USTA-hosted French Open (http://www.tennisforum.com/topic/sports/tennis/french-open-EVSPR000107.topic) Wild Card Playoffs brought a piece of Roland Garros to the sprawling Boca West Country Club where coffee, croissants and crepes served as an appetizer to comebacks by two American hopefuls.

On a breezy Friday with smells of a makeshift French café wafting over the clay courts, the women's final was up first with petite Irina Falconi battling back from a set and 0-3, 0-40 down to outlast a taller Julia Boserup, 4-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3 to earn her first trip into the main draw of the French Open (May 22-June 5).

In the afternoon men's final, Milwaukee's Tim Smyczek was serving at 5-4 in the first set only to fritter away eight set points and the opening set before downing Donald Young 6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 for his second career main draw appearance in a major, but first in Paris.

The USTA and French Tennis Federation hold similar three-day, six-player tournaments for men and women with the winners receiving a wild card into the main draw of the French Open and U.S. Open (http://www.tennisforum.com/topic/sports/tennis/u.s.-open-tennis-EVSPR000069.topic).

For Sure
1. USA- Falconi
2. Aust. Maybe Dellaqua. hope not Molik, she should not even bother coming back. Maybe Ferguson as she qualified and beat Kvitova last year here. Maybe Peers?
3. Mladenovic
4. Garcia
5. Lim
6. Don't like her but Parmentier

the last 2 are the tough ones.
I would love it to be Olivia Sanchez. She is a cutie. Reached 2nd round last year here on a wc and was leading dirty old marion 5-1 or 5-2 when rain came. Last year though, she had a great Jan-May on the challenger circuit, securing a wc by winnning a $25 K events in Brazil. This year the poor honey can't even win a match.
Maybve Steph Forezt as she has had a really solid year. aginast her- she has had so many WC's in past
I'm not sure of the stus of Bremond. No French, had a good year, has she been accpeted into the FFT? Dunno?? Playing some doubles with frenches which maybe a positivee sign for her?
Anohe big inprover is De Gubernatis. Had a great 2010, crap 2011 until last week.

I think it will be out of those 3.
Outsiders would be Thorpe or Laurendon.
Very oustide change COin, who played Fed cup in Feb. She has massive form slump, made stupid mistake of not going to Oz and defnedning her rnd 2. she would have made it into the qualies and by not coming to Oz also f'ed up her doubles rank. I'd say she will get a qd wc

So QDWC
1. Junior champ 2010
2. Coin
3. Bergot- good 2010
4. de Gubernatis
5. Feurestein
6. Picquin- had a great 2010, missed start of year? Was she inj??
7. Beltrame- for old times sake
8. Laurendon

Obviously 1 or 2 of these guys could get in on their own accors with good wins over the next few weeks

Should consider Monica Puig for a QDWC. Just won $25K Chiasso, beating Parmentier (WTA-125), Mayr-Achleitner (WTA-97) and Hlavockova (WTA-94) to claim the title. Other key wins in clay this year against top 200 players includes Malek (WTA-155) and Brengle (WTA-155). Lost to Jie Zheng (WTA 53) (first round of Charleston) 3-6, 7-6, 5-7

No way Lim receives a MDWC. I don't think she deserves a QWC neither although she'll probably get one thanks to her fluke run in a $50k 6 months ago.

As for now, I think that 4 MDWC are secured: Garcia, Mladenovic, Parmentier and Foretz (yeah I know picking Foretz is boring but she still can defeat some decent players)

Sanchez has a good shot to get hers as she has a 2nd round to defend and even though she is totally OUT of form (but the FFT doesn't care about this )

I would give the last one to Iryna Brémond to reward her for her recent success even if she doesn't have very impressive wins but it would be a proof that France doesn't distinguish neo French citizens from French-born citizens. However according to TBE Laura Thorpe could get one as she is on Strasbourg entry list. I don't want to be mean but Thorpe is just awful right now. She has had an excellent 2010 summer but her winning period is over now. I don't think it would be a good decision.

Right now they shouldn't give any French a WC or barely. They all suck.
Foretz & Garcia are the most deserving with some solid results on clay. The rest should definitely play qualies.
I start to be against the idea to give Kristina a chance in main draw. I mean her last results have been truly awful and she has wasted all the chances she has been given. Getting through qualies is perhaps what she needs. Hope she turns it around in the next two weeks.
