Well she certainly will be exhausted if she flies half way across the world to play in Melbourne, and then all the way back a couple of days later.

The whole competition is a joke. She cbf and I don't blame her.

They should play it in a neutral European site like they do now with football friendlies. Flying that far, especially if you have an injury, is ridiculous. Another thing, why is the ticket price so high, same as Aus Open price, as if they are going to get a huge crowd.

OK, I think it may be smart not to play, but exhaustion :spit:. If it's a hoax, kind of annoying but fine, but if she's actually excited, I am EXTREMELY worried about her fitness level :help:.

If I were the Fed Cup Responsibles in Australia I would offer Ukraine to held the tie with a financial support, I mean Australia will win anyway and it would be better for all players.

I know her fans say this a lot, and I know my user name is a tad dramatic and my favorite player ever not exactly Miss Stable, but Dokic is Victim Vera/Greta Garbo/Bette Davis on medication! But maybe thats her appeal!

I do feel very sorry for Jelena as damaged childhoods are EXTREMELY difficult to overcome, if ever. As is depression. But sometimes people can fall into the trap of enjoying drama and I fear Jelena has. I just wish she could get a decent Team behind her who have only her best interests at heart, but decent people are hard to find.

I'd rather her take a week off so she can be fresh for the claycourt season instead of overstretching herself and playing Fed Cup. I usually say the same thing when Venus and Serena don't commit for Fed Cup for Team USA.

Why do people assume it's necessarily a physical exhaustion? She might be exhausted mentally, that happens to a lot of players. She's been playing well all season, but her last 2 tournaments have been disappointing, but it's understandable, because as someone said, she hadn't been used to playing more than 1-2 matches per tournament till this year.
