:woohoo: Breakthrough week for Christina!! :bounce:

I'm still laughing at everyone who thought Watson's loss to her was so bad. And I have a certain poster in mind who keeps tabs on up and coming players who always would say how unimpressive Christina was. Yet look where she is now. ;) Keep going girl!

That´s bad. Daniela had a very open draw and she could take the advantage. She led 4-1 in first and lost, then she had 7 BP´s in the third game of second set, she wasted it and then got broken. I could imagine how the match looked as it was not for the first time such scenario happened in Daniela´s match

No. Just no. That was such a great Tennis day with Goerges and Vesnina winning and now Danka lost a match she shouldn't have lost. I mean we all know Danka but I never expected a straight set loss to McHale... I'm truly disappointed, she had a great chance to reach the QF here and she threw it away. On the other hand McHale must be playing well, had a good result at IW and now winning against Kleybs and Danka back-to-back. I've never seen her play so I'm looking forward to her QF :)

Still, this is a real bummer :(

O.M.G. I really like this girl :hearts: I remember her playing against Jessica Moore in the first round of the AO and it was a battle of up and coming stars for each country, she lost and look where she is now, and look at Moore :help:

I feel bad for Oudin because she is going to get overshined now from Christina and all the other players. Go McHale and Stephens! :D

She has a good forehand that she can dictate with and a pretty good serve. She hits with a good amount of pace but I certainly wouldn't say she's a BBB. I've seen her play like three or four different times.

McHale played a round 2 match with Maria Sharapova in Arthur Ashe Stadium at 2009 US Open; it's the round before Maria lost to Melanie Oudin.

I was impressed by Christina then. She was calm and collective, even though she lost the match.

Yes, it was her first time playing anyone in the top 30 I believe and only her second top 50 opponent believe. Plus on one of the biggest stages of the world... it was good experience for her and she began to see what she needed to do to advance her game. :) She was most definitely overpowered, but showed glimpses that night of her potential. So proud to see how far she's come!

Christina has always been mentally tough and now she seems to have added physical strength. It looks like she is ready to break out of the rank from Oudin, Coco, Pervak, Halep and Javanovski to become the top teenage WTA player in the world.

And posts like this are how teens who get results end up getting hated. Just saying. I'm over the moon about this result, but let's wait and see how consistent she can be over the next few months. :)

McHale  I've seen her twice and it was dismal. Hopefully I can see her tomorrow to get another evaluation .

Nevertheless, THRILLED. The fact she's on good on clay is what USA needs and she seems fearless. She has opened up a bakery in Charleston, next victim is Lady JaJa ;) hope they play under the lights!
