Eva led 6-1, *5-1 and had 5 MP´s at 5-2 (40-0 and 2 adv.)

Wouldn´t be surprised if it would be a brain injury...but probably not, there was a long break at 6-5 40-30 and it would be stupid to retire a match when being just 0-2 down in third for no reason:hug:

That was insanely bad from Julia getting down so far. What happened to Eva? Julia must have played better and better, but did Eva get injured or sick??

OMG I really thought that's just not possible I mean what a bad loss I can't even find the words for Julia's performance today... Glad she turned it around. Eva on the otherhand surely suffered a brain injury, I mean c'mon...

Anyway, GL Jules in next round.

Julia started off so bad :o
but great fight from her, saving those MPs and coming back to win the second set.

Hopefully nothing serious for Eva

Oh Julia, the beginning was :o, but nice comeback :yeah:

Last year she lost in the first round here, so nice to see her in the third round :)

But hope there is nothing serious with Birnerova

Julia :tape:
16 15 against Birnerova, that is awful, no consistency in her game and no Plan B it seems if her game doesnt work...

Great fight then, from 15* to 75, being 0-40 down on *25, that was impressive...at 65 there was a long break then, probably Eva had medial timeout there and as she was for sure mentally down anyway she decided to retire then at 02..

so great that Julia came back but she has to improve, I hope that this fight today gave her at least some confidence back, good luck against Peer (probably)!

I will be honest, I saw the 1-6, 2-5 score on yahoo and gave up hope. Such patchy play, but at least she gets another chance.

Hope Birnerova is ok both mentally and physically.

Eva deserved it  Wonder what happened, she's a good fighter, don't think she would just give up in the 3rd.

To not take one of those MPs  Julia hit an ace on one of them if I remember.

Good fight from Julia.

I don't think it's a serious injury for Eva and I hope it isn't either.

Have you ever seen Eva playing? Her game is better than Julia's one, she has still to find her concistency.
Eva, please don't tell me you retired because you were a stupid rabbit

well, did I say that Birnerova is a bad player? No :p
Just said that it is really bad for Julia when she is 16 15 down, doesn´t matter against which player she plays, such a scorline is never satisfying, even if Birnerova´s game was great yesterday....

Two years later, Julia made almost the some great comeback in Rome  But I guess this match was much tougher.
