Pump-it-UP Apr 3rd, 2011, 07:42 AM She had knee surgery in the offseason. SwingVolley93 Apr 3rd, 2011, 07:46 AM Does anyone know when she will be back? Szczecin Apr 3rd, 2011, 08:01 AM While we're at it... Where is Kateryna ? Sombrerero loco Apr 3rd, 2011, 08:04 AM no clay season i think =S Pump-it-UP Apr 3rd, 2011, 08:17 AM While we're at it... Where is Kateryna ? Losing in qualies & ITFs. :o Though to be fair I don't think she's having any bad losses. Libertango Apr 3rd, 2011, 08:22 AM Get well soon Alona, I reeeeally like her. Six Feet Under Apr 3rd, 2011, 09:30 AM I miss Alona and Katernya  Vefci Y Apr 3rd, 2011, 09:45 AM She will be back in Roma Smitten Apr 3rd, 2011, 10:23 AM I just now realized she wasn't around. :haha: Shonami Slam Apr 3rd, 2011, 11:12 AM another legitimate top30 player that her absence allows lesser players into the group. Shadowcat Apr 3rd, 2011, 11:31 AM Get well soon...anyone knows what happened to Aleksandra Wozniak? I don't know if it's just me but I haven't heard any new about her... A-Bond Apr 3rd, 2011, 11:55 AM Get well soon...anyone knows what happened to Aleksandra Wozniak? I don't know if it's just me but I haven't heard any new about her... Yes she's injured again, the same injury which troubled her during 2010. She pulled out of Fed Cup and she will most likely skip the clay season. Good to get a real recovery but she'll drop out of Top 250 since she has RG 3R points to defend  As for Alona, she's on the Entry list for Rome but I have no idea if she'll really play there. It's gonna be a tough road back for her, she should focus on the clay MMs after Wimbly. Hian Apr 3rd, 2011, 12:13 PM Alona  She has a nice tennis  Queenpova Apr 3rd, 2011, 12:20 PM where's sprem? A-Bond Apr 3rd, 2011, 12:21 PM Awww remember these matches  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdyAiDiyeUE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDJHiXpYj88&feature=related toxina90 Apr 3rd, 2011, 12:45 PM She's so serene and good to watch, I love her backhand cross-court, but still prefer Kat :p Viktor Apr 3rd, 2011, 01:26 PM ^ i hate her footwork on her backhand. Its like an open stance hope but only with one foot(?) I don't know. I like her to but I think its slightly biased due to her good genes. Chakvenus Apr 3rd, 2011, 03:22 PM I miss Alona too  One of my favorite highlights reels to watch is of her match against Wozniacki last year in Madrid - she played sublime tennis. Viktymise Apr 3rd, 2011, 06:06 PM I've actually missed her. Even just seeing her name in draws. Her thrashing of Failniacki in Madrid was actually one of the highlights of last year. No joke. hurricanejeanne Apr 3rd, 2011, 06:19 PM I miss my crazy Bondarenko sisters. :awww: G&R Apr 3rd, 2011, 07:20 PM Come back soon Alona! Break My Rapture Apr 3rd, 2011, 07:58 PM I love watching Alona play, such fluid groundstrokes. I hope she's back soon. Sund7101 Apr 3rd, 2011, 11:53 PM I miss her too. She has some really clean groundstrokes. SwingVolley93 Apr 4th, 2011, 12:13 AM Hope she is doing ok and her knee is fine :) The Dawntreader Apr 4th, 2011, 12:15 AM Such an elegant mover. Like an ice-skater, gliding with such agility on a tennis court. Real shame about her injury. Hope to see her back soon. Junzilla69 Apr 4th, 2011, 12:32 AM I miss my Bondarenko sisters playing together and underperforming in doubles. Petkorazzi Apr 4th, 2011, 01:33 AM I always think that Bondarenko kind of got stuck in between being an aggressive baseliner and a counterpuncher. She lacks the firepower to be a strong baseliner, and she never had the dropshots/lobs/etc. necessary for counterpunching. Being a headcase doesn't really help, either. By the way, anyone else think Jovanovski's game is really similar to Alona's? SwingVolley93 Apr 4th, 2011, 05:54 AM I always think that Bondarenko kind of got stuck in between being an aggressive baseliner and a counterpuncher. What happend to Karolina Sprem ? She dissapeared right after AO-Q ? @danieln1 Apr 5th, 2011, 04:20 AM I've actually missed her. Even just seeing her name in draws. Her thrashing of Failniacki in Madrid Jankovic in Melbourne was actually one of the highlights of last year. No joke. :yeah: Smitten Apr 5th, 2011, 08:19 AM By the way, anyone else think Jovanovski's game is really similar to Alona's? No. frenchie Apr 5th, 2011, 10:28 AM To me Alona's game is very similar to Kournikova's! Corswandt Apr 5th, 2011, 10:48 AM By the way, anyone else think Jovanovski's game is really similar to Alona's? I've been saying that for a while now. Same aggressive grinding game based on clean groundstrokes and good movement, and some other similarities: BoJo also has a running FH (though nowhere near as good as Alona's), they both win no free points off their serves (but Alona has a much better 2nd serve); in the end, I think BoJo's ground game has a bit more bite, and that makes up for some of her shortcomings when compared to Alona. Petkorazzi Apr 5th, 2011, 09:37 PM I've been saying that for a while now. Yep, you're right. Bojana's strokes are less aesthetic, but both of them have effective high percentage groundstrokes with pretty good power, and they both move very effectively (again, Alona's defense is prettier, but I don't think it's all that better). And I also think the attitude helps Bojana make up for some of her shortcomings. Libertango May 10th, 2011, 03:49 PM Any news on Alona?? I miss her! A-Bond May 10th, 2011, 04:14 PM She's on the Entry List for Strasbourg, but then she was also on the Entry List for Rome, so it's doubtful if she'll play there. She has 3R points to defend at RG and Wimbledon which is quiet a big amount in her current ranking space, she'll drop out of Top 100 if she doesn't start to play soon. But of course it's better to come back fully healed instead of rushing back and making everything worse. Libertango May 10th, 2011, 04:59 PM ^Thanks for the news. I want her back as soon as, but of course, first thing is her health. | |
