The number is a shock! Against Patty Schnyder, received by the enforcement office courtyards claims in the amount of CHF 379'260 .86. The creditors include banks, credit card companies, debt collection company, a trust company and tax authorities - even the Billag wants money.

Big post for the 32-year-olds who will soon withdraw from class tennis. How is it that a former world number 7, a woman who has earned in 16 years to the 10 million dollars in prize money and sponsorship, suddenly can not pay? If it is set against a con artist, as she claims in her opinion?

Maybe. But the question is, how far track of their finances in general has. Whether exclusively to the financial affairs of care her husband Rainer Hofmann. Schnyder busy not just with finances, was "too sloppy" and are not well aware of the obligations were outstanding, said a creditor who does not want to be named. Another predicts that they apparently want to sell to Germany.

Properties in Germany

The couple is still officially reported in Brooks (church camp Bach). Mobile and immobile values exist. A small cottage in Isenbüttel near Wolfsburg, in which the two retire each, for example. This obviously is a penthouse apartment in the fashionable district of Berlin Grunewald. A stake in a golf hotel in Portugal was repelled, according to Schnyder in the meantime. Also the speed boat on Lake Zurich is not redeemed.

Expensive tennis life

One thing is certain: life as a tennis pro is depending on not only lucrative, but expensive. Just the cost of an annual business-ticket amount depending on the airline of up to 180,000 francs for two persons. In addition to all other expenses.

With an income that does not exceed 400,000 francs a year more, one can estimate: The fat years are over. Schnyder refers to an ongoing criminal investigation. She is currently in America is planning next due to play the tournament in Charleston.

Many questions are still open. Also, if they pay because of the shortage even plans to move the resignation. Their dreams in the future, "something with animals" to make (dog trainer? Animal psychologist?) Seem, at present but further away than ever.

In case anybody was looking for a scandal to cheer themselves up today:

According to this tabloid news site, Patty Schnyder's hubbie took a down-payment on 8 Porsche cars from some investors, promising that he could get them a really good deal, then never delivered them, and so the investors contacted the police.

There appears 2B some confusion here. The orange juice guru was (faith healer) Rainer Harnecker, who the Cuckoo Clock was involved with in '98-'99. The present (Career Conman, Deadbeat Dad and since 14 Dec. 2002 Convicted Criminal aka Frankfurt Felon) is Rainer Hofmann, a make believe private detective who the Pepperemint Parents hired to rescue her from the OJ guru Jon Wertheim would refer to as the Tropicana Man.

Legally it was @ best a gray area, as the Strange Suissie was 19 when she first took up with "Harny" (aka Rainer I) and not a danger to herself or others. "Hoffy" (aka Rainer II) was playing the role a deprogrammer does when one's adult child is in a cult. However he wasn't so interested in the 50K or whatever he was promised by the Schnyders, he wanted to "trade in" his pregnant wife Verena for the WTA's 1998 Newcomer of the Year (5 titles, including Tier II Hanover).

Which he did (and she didn't have the honor to not be a "homewrecker"). Though as I once told her mother Iris, even if Hoffy had returned her as agreed, she'd have been marked as an intended recruit by Scientology and every other cult in the world once she was back on tour, and I don't know how one could have protected her from that. (Though her supposed friend Babsi Schett could have tried to exert a positive influence)

Doesn't he already have a bit of a sordid past?

Yup. 14 December 2002 (in the Hessen State Court in Frankfurt, Judge Eva Wagner presiding) he pled guilty to embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from the largest German phone company, Deutsche Telekom (corporate parent of T-Mobile) in some equipment leasing scheme.

As part of the plea bargain (because he by then controlled the Peppermint Pocketbook, and had access to what the Cuckoo Clock had earned and was "good for" based on presumed future earnings; this being a month after her only Tier I title in Zurich) he got off with an 18 month suspended sentence plus 18 months probation for that.

Though PP (err, Public Prosecutor) Gero Schomberg wasn't happy about the deal, in the plea bargain he had to drop the charges for something eerily reminiscent of the new charges: having leased non-existant yachts in the 90s. (Again, his Peppermint Puppet's money factored into his being able to pay the victims back what he stole from them).

But if she now (@ age 32 years and 4 plus months) has a net worth of minus 3 or 4 hundred thousand dollars, I'd believe those who paid Hoffy money for luxury cars he never delivered can't be so easily bought off, like those with the bogus yacht leases were. I'm just ecstatic, I've been waiting 8 years for this (in the meantime helping some players beat his cash machine, most recently Cornet in IW). :D

http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=82620

Do you know about Schnyder's childhood and her parents? I'm curious as to why she is attracted to such shady guys.

Supposedly she was pretty normal, actually going to regular schools (not the bogus kind many sports prodigies do). The thing is that I only really have one side of the story (that of her parents) as things where she (and Hoffy) had promised to give theirs, like the book The White Mile, were never published. One weird thing she did as a teenager that may have been a portent of things to come was breaking up with one bf by inviting him to a family gathering... where he'd wind up meeting her new one.

BTW, I dearly hope (per http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost....&postcount=115) that slimeball Hoffy IS reading my posts here.

http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/leben/ge...story/21272328

The total debts of an estimated 600,000 Suisse Francs (380,000 for the Cuckoo Clock, and 228,000 for the Peppermint Puppetmeister) = ova half a million US dollars, and the Frankfurt Felon has no other source of income than the CCCP (not the USSR, the Criminally Controlled Crazy Player). No wonder he was doing phony leases of non-existent Porsche's. And the "adviser" in London they claim defrauded them apparently never existed. Rainer, I hope your jail cell has a nice view!

http://www.blick.ch/sport/tennis/ich-koennte-patty-zurueck-in-die-top-10-bringen-169832

Google translation:

What do you say to the current situation of Patty Schnyder?

Rainer Harnecker: That was expected. It is a totally sad chapter. He would have remained the big coal, it is on the line. There is no one there for them. She has only this gamer. I now say many, I should help her.

Who says so?

My friends. Honestly, Patty and I were a super team. It may be important for them to forget the crap and just concentrate on her tennis. I could bring them back into the top 10, not an issue. The question is: Will I?

Rainer Harnecker as rescuers in need of interest.

Yes, they have 50 or 60 years of a life ahead of him. You need to decide how they want to argue with them. I could try to turn back all the negative development. But for that it would have to stop once to lie and - (make a mistake?) yourself something - above all. With this one can carry no real conversation, because she does not live in reality.

One can not claim that you, too. They were exposed as imposters in Germany, have covered include cancer patients with orange juice and a needle roller and were sentenced by a court.

They were a danger. I have made many mistakes, no question. Not the medicine or the human's fault, I was to blame.

If you are still healing?

Oh, stop. I am not a healer and not deformed. I am now the most realistic human, there is. I have my system the past eight years, revised and tested in field experiments on myself. I have now seen that it works. Of course I made mistakes at that time 100 000. But I am always expected of me. I now have a system at the start, that works. The only question is whether the people want.

This is questionable.

I stand securely on the stage when I know that I can not sing.

With them came the sport crash. Schnyder as you left, they again played successfully.

What do you think, how long that still continued to play with my system? She has endured so. Apart from that we were hunted so nine hours per day from the press and so prevented from working.

You have no idea of tennis.

To his coach, you also need to have no idea. One must look primarily to the professionals to stay inside the system and in match play not 50 percent worse than in training. It's about concentration, a good sense of such things. The technique has already. Even Sven Groeneveld has come time to time and asked me why we do it that way. I guess I just have my own methods. When I Roger Federer in 1999 in the gym ...

Attention now is: You are responsible also for 16 Grand Slam titles, we assume.

When I told him as in 1999 met at the gym, I had to put him first right onto a bicycle. Such things should not be underestimated.

Let's talk rather Patty. Her career is coming to an end. And she seems to struggle with money problems.

I can only say that they feel sorry. We had a good time. That they then Eric van Harpen away wanted was completely logical. Who has ever seen as she has angeplärrt, questions are not asked.

Schnyder then you have completely sealed off. As in a cult.

I made many mistakes, no doubt. But you can not blame me. All people have thought I would keep out them. It was the Patty's will. She wanted to be left alone. That I wanted to attribute the journalists in Switzerland has always, I was a kind of cult leaders, the right sects in Germany still makes rich. Who gets my name in Internet searches, automatically addresses of sects. But I lay no hands. And I can not even pray. Yeah, I, the cult leader with the evil eye.

With the evil eye?

Yes, I was a great story, a feeding frenzy. It was then exploited. A photographer has even told me once: "Come, now let's set up some really bad images. I have just looked bad. But that was such a humbug like that with the orange juice. The whole world has yet thought we drink 40 liters of orange juice per week.

You believe but not know that the orange guru now can push the press into the shoes.
The orange-guru is simply exaggerated. I must make it clear before. We did not drink orange juice all day. We ate like normal people and cooked together. And Patty liked best-ten pizza with cheese.

They were at times close-Patty. Describe it in three words.

A kind stubborn. She was really stubborn. It usually makes the opposite of what is said to her. And they can convince themselves things that one's hair stand on end. As she once played against Kournikova, she said before the game: 'This is so pretty, I'm not playing against. So she was.'

Why do you have then lost Patty to Hofmann?

I do not know Oh. He came and said: The mine now. He has made the top. He is a bright lad with good planning. The fall came as a moderate. The Swiss were all for it. It was almost like a referendum. But he did it well. He showed me where the rubber meets the road. I can not be mad at him. Only: you must now live with it.

Previously, you had your gym, "Via Sola," the only way. How do you cover your
Living today?

I used to earn more cash. And I had advertising contracts with big companies.

Which?
I can not say now, we have disclosed.

Do you live alone?

No. I had the image of a Casanova. And I can live with it. It is true that I look 54 years from now and have many admirers. But I have a partner. That sounds a bit boring and after the family album. But it is reality.

Onjanae.

Schnyder reported debt of 600K doesn't appear that large if you assume that she must have made at least USD 15 million in her career (inc. endoresments) and has some of the money secured in real estate. And she can still make 250K a year playing on the tour.

http://www.blick.ch/sport/tennis/ihre-wut-trifft-einen-amerikanischen-journalisten-170061

Patty Schnyder for fun is not felt. After look reveals that they have made to her husband and debt collection request for several hundred thousand francs, runs sports anymore. The first-round defeat in Charleston against Chanelle Scheepers broke the camel's back.

Their anger met an American journalist. They had asked if it would be difficult at present to focus on tennis. Schnyder: "Yes, it's hard. And I give you the advice to write anything about what is written in Switzerland. Or ruin your newspaper. That's all I say it. "

When asked about her retirement, she gave a clear signal. "I'm in Charleston on next year certainly no longer as a player start. Yes, I think I will retire soon. But I know not when. "No artificial extension of the career, then, to plug any financial holes with prizes.

This spring, after all, Schnyder could still create some sports highlights. Because on 16 and 17 April, she leads the Swiss Fed Cup team that is fighting against Sweden in Lugano for the promotion to World Group II. One last exclamation point, they could put in Stuttgart, Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros.

Seriously... the only way the Peppermint Puzzle can change the trajectory of her life is by breaking with this Career Conman (though @ this point her tennis future is likely basically as a coach, not much longer as a player).

The cheering for her by ppl who know what a scumbag Hoffy is has hardly helped PP face up to reality. The only real question left in the current drama is whether he has the missing money stashed somewhere, or if whatever crook he funneled it to maybe ripped him off too.

If Patty has lost her money, why would she retire? Wouldn't make more sense to her to continue for a bit longer?

You make very little being eliminated in first rounds, and pretty soon she'd need to play Qualies to even make main draws in Premier events. She'd have gotten some maindraw WC's this year, but few after, and likely not even made the Silver Exempt list for next year (as she's already out of the Top 50). Maybe she cut some deal with Hoffy for him to mysteriously "find" :tape: the missing money and then @ least separate, even if the formal divorce is delayed awhile.
