Yeah, it could be reasonably close, Alex is clearly playing very solidly. Still think Shuai is in such terrific form that I can't see her losing. But at the very least, Alex should win more games than than Sveta did today. :lol:

No, honestly I hope that some people on this board will notice now that Alex isn't useless or a mug on HC. Yeah, she is still far away from consistet Top 30 on this surface, but she is a solid player who is able to beat much of the girls ranked outside Top 50. This year she had 5 matches against players outside Top 50. She won 3 of them in straights: Baltacha, Scheepers and Larsson and lost to an in form Morita and upward climber Hradecka who has also troubled Peng or Asarenka so far. :)

The fact that her year to date activity is that bad shows that she has really played only the biggest events so far where she had stronger HC players than hers in the early round. No doubt that she would have had a good shot at Acapulco or Bogota, but she tries to improve on hard and people should recognize that with some more respect.;)
So Alex could steadily become more competitive on Hard! She is a nice girl! :cheer:
