such a scoreline against in form Melinda would be OK, but it“s not really promising if you look at Melinda“s latest results, but a win is a win, but of course, Sabine is far away from her best, especially her 1st serve isn“t as strong it used to be, good fight at least and 50pts, good luck against Nadia, but can“t expect anything there.....

Oddly enough the result actual feels more promising for Melinda than it does Sabine

Czink was out of action for ages and she's barely played since returning to the courts again. The fact that she pushed Lisicki that close will be encouraging for her I think. For Sabine on the other hand, I can only hope for her sake that she'll find some more rhythm with more match play but I get the feeling her form isn't proressing anywhere near as fast as it really ought to be by now.

I think Sabine needed to win a close match. Finally something to cheer about,a win for Germany's Sabine Lisicki. I love it!.

You“re right. The most important fact is, that she won this match. She hit 5 aces and 7 double faults, Czink 0 aces and 13 double faults. She needs more first serves in, but the last meeting against Czink also end in three sets. So important, that she won this close match. Last year she lost in round two, after having a bye against Shvedova.

Good like against Petrova, Bine

Will she ever be as good as she was?

I'm afraid she'll be the next Groenefeld - only 40 pounds less :D

What do you mean?

Just fearsome to watch her struggling against Czink, when the match could go either way until *5-4 in 3rd set, with another huge setback looming. But she held her nerves when she fended off 3 bp in her first 3rd set service game and then served out the match, which was a problem for her this year. So hopefully that's the positive thing she can build on.
