On Twitter she wrote she might be playing an ITF in Prague. My guess it is the 100k (as the 50k is during Madrid) and this is in the same week as Rome...

Internazionali d'Italia is HUGE for Italian players, if they suspect they have a minimal chance to enter they will stay in Rome. Every year there's always lots of Italian players who didn't make the Q draw hanging around and watching qualy matches.

The problem is that she has not signed for 50.000 Reggio Emilia in the same week, where she would have been at least seeded in Quali...
Knapp won her pre-quali match, she has to face Zucchini for a QWC tomorrow.

did you see the pre-quali draw?

No, but if players are withdrawing it doesn't really matter. Costas Moreira and Ferrer Suárez played the pre-qualy final in Madrid and they would have entered on her own ranking anyway. Ferrer lost but still entered the Q draw. And some other players who played the pre-qualy (Fernández Rabener, De la Torre Sánchez, Domínguez López) had a better ranking that Kondratieva and co. but they had left the tournament when ALT were required. As Italians usually hang around in Rome when the tournament starts this won't happen there. At least until last year. This year it may be different as $50K Reggio Emilia is at the same time. Smart scheduling from the Italian Federation :tape:

INTERNAZIONALI BNL D'ITALIA

In defence to Dentoni, the Italians don't have a lot of suitable players to give their WCs to. Brianti for sure deserves one. Oprandi too.

But after that, well Dentoni probably does deserve the WC more than anyone else. I know that is not saying much but....

If you compare Camerin's results this year to Dentoni's, Corinna's are substantially better. Camerin has 86 ranking points this year, Dentoni almost twice as many with 174. On top of that does it make more sense to give a WC to a 22 year old or a 29 year old?

FORZA SARITA

WOW at those WCs. Those girls are 75k level.

Brianti won a WTA title a few weeks ago, Oprandi has SF and QF in some WTA tournaments
I know Corinna is still young and "promising", but I preferred MEC to get the last one... howewer, who cares, just one of these two players could get the WC and, incredibly, FIT didn't give it to the player ranked highest.

Serena is out

I don't think so. She deserved a WC for the main draw. So she had to play and win in cagnes sur mer, for improving her rank and return in the top100.
