Where is everybody? :o
Yesterday Nina only lost 2 games against Oudin :speakles::worship:

Now in Paris she will play against Vesnina in the first round. Time for Wimbledon 2009 revenge!

Feb 8th, 2011, 06:13 PM
Against Mattek she wasn't playing that well, against Oudin it was a lot better ;)

Yanina Wickmayer is unsure about the tournament in Paris, where she was scheduled to play her first match on Wednesday. After the Fed Cup win against the US on Sunday, a wooden wall fell on her leg at the Sportpaleis.

The incident occured in Antwerp, when fans approached Wickmayer for autographs after the doubles rubber. "There was some pushing and pulling in the crowd, which caused the wooden wall that separated the crowd from the players to collapse", says Wickmayer's father in Gazet van Antwerpen.

"The wall fell straight on her leg. She has a bruise on her ankle, which is also seriously swollen. She also grazed herself. It looks really dirty. The physiotherapist has bandaged her entire leg so the blood can leave."

The injury comes at an inconvenient time. Wickmayer had gained confidence from her two singles wins in Antwerp and looked ready to try and enter the top 20 again. Will she be able to play against Vesnina on Wednesday? "We'll have to wait and see", her father concluded.

What's that about? A wall? something gone wrong in translation maybe?

Yanina def. Elena Vesnina 76(1) 62 :)

She's really injured. Hopefully her leg heals up fast:hug:

Feb 9th, 2011, 05:29 PM
Well done against Vesnina. :rocker:

Feb 9th, 2011, 05:37 PM
Well it wasn't really a wall but some kind of 'wooden pallet' that was around the court i think.
Well done :yeah:

Feb 9th, 2011, 08:58 PM
Nice win Nina :)

Feb 10th, 2011, 07:54 AM
Well it wasn't really a wall but some kind of 'wooden pallet' that was around the court i think.
Well done :yeah:

The translation was my own. I know it wasn't a real 'wall', but I couldn't find a better word. It was definitely not a pallet though ;).

She played well yesterday but Vesnina was terrible. It seems that the injury is not serious but i'm scared because Zakapalova has a far better baseline game than Vesnina and she can make Wickmayer run .. Anyway come on Yanina !

Feb 10th, 2011, 02:43 PM
def. Zakopalova 61 63 under one hour :cheer:

Next up Kvitova:scared: it should be a good match though. Good luck!

Feb 10th, 2011, 02:54 PM
She was impressive, she beat Zakopalova from the baseline and control her power. I hope she can do the same against Kvitova. Anyway her injury is definitely not serious and that's a great news.

Feb 11th, 2011, 01:08 AM
