if Kaia is on, Estonia will win 2. she has not lost a fed cup match at home for many years now (has she ever, actually?) but getting to 3 implies winning the doubles match or 15-year old kontaveit (likely no 2 in singles) winning one... the odds of either outcome are not exactly great.

I agree the best Estonia can hope for is that Kanepi wins both her singles matches, which would seem quite possible indeed.

But just out of curiousity why would the Estonians have 15 year old Kontaveit play over Ani or Ruutel? I know Ani hasn't played in 6 months and the last year did not go well for her but she was still a top 100 player less than two years ago and both she and Ruutel are vastly more experienced than this 15 year old kid, who perhaps might have some talent in the future but has still only won 2 matches on 10K ITF level in her professional career.

Anyway it is all academic as there really is no way I can see Estonia taking a third tie in this contest.

She won a 10k title today ;)

Anett is clearly better than Margit right now. Maret is not fully fit (only played doubles this week) and will be most likely saved for doubles.

A title at 15. :worship:

That is impressive. Ok, you make some good points made there. It's kind of throwing the kid off at the deep end but she may indeed be Estonia's best option. Even so, this young girl obviously has some talent, and I hope this experience isn't too daunting for her and she goes in with realistic expectations. One wouldn't want this experience to be detrimental to her future development as a player.

I'd love to see Anett's play. I'm curious about her tennis before her first 10k win.
I think that Spain will win 5-0 ;)

Estonia needs a miracle:sobbing:

Not really, if Maria Jose has an off day they have a good chance. I wouldn't bet a penny on Carla or Anabel winning a match... Hopefully they will prove me wrong.

courts should be super speed

Not really. Spaniards were positively surprised. They thought it would be much faster.

Well, seeing that Estonia is represented by a 10 year old, if we lose to them, I think the players should walk back to Spain. ;)
