Thank you Vika :hearts:

Not a good 2nd set and she felt she got boned on a few calls..

Go on.

Andrea just kept bottling it when she got level.

Good girl.

Good R3 against Scheepers now.

Too much to ask for an upset but she did a great job of exposing Azarenka's unimposing groundgame for some great winners.

That was a hot mess. Hlavackova was like a Dementieva redux with all breaks and double faults and great return games.

I'm just happy Vika is through and the closing game was pretty solid. Allez! :cheer:

Good Fight.
Huge hitting Andrea.

Happy for Andrea that she made it so competetitive. She really does have some great powerful strokes... they just gop into the net a little too often!

Jan 19th, 2011, 07:46 AM
Keep it up Vika :inlove:

Jan 19th, 2011, 08:49 AM

Well done Shrieky. :yeah:

Vika was in a feisty mood today.

Hopefully they'll have Hawkeye on MCA next year. The challenge system should be available on more than 2 courts in a GS tournament.

From what I saw Hlavackova was better than I thought she'd be..

This should have been the final :sobbing:

It was a very good effort by Andrea yes. I was actually very pleased with how she played. Along with Clijsters, Azarenka is probably better than anyone else in the game at complete annihilating lower ranked opponents. With that in mind I had very low expectations for this match. But Andrea actually made both sets very competitive which bodes very well for her future.

Azarenka's serve is just completely useless :help:. Na will gobble it up if they meet.

I'm always surprised it took Andrea so long to reach the top 100. She's got firepower off both wings, is very fit, good touch at the net and even the occassional drop shot. But then again, her style is also very "all or nothing, go for broke" which might also explain a lack of consistent results against more steady opposition. She's definitely good enough for top 50 though, and I hope she can make it there this year.
