This! But probably the stars are practicing on those courts so they won't kick off Nadal, Federer, Venus, or Sharapova for a match like Olaru vs. Lee

Not really  Venus was training together with Radwanska sisters in some indoor venue - I mean Venus played a half of court and Radwanskas on the other one.

Elisse
Jan 13th, 2011, 02:36 AM
Correction...just found a small line on Facebook...

'no qualifying play now before 2.30pm'

(That time has already passed so I guess it's still no play anytime soon)

It doesn't look very good for today :(

I am at work in the Melbourne CBD and it's still raining :(

Am hoping for it to stop by 5.30pm so I can go after work.

Looking at the schedule of play, it now says all matches have been cancelled except the first two matches on each court.

What time does the sun set at Melbourne this time of the year?

Keadz
Jan 13th, 2011, 05:22 AM
Fairly late, probably around 8-8.30. All the courts have lights, so they will play into the night like they did yesterday. (if they get a chance, not looking likely though.)

A year ago, the though of it raining in Melbourne for an hour, let alone a whole day would be laughed at. How things have changed.

Experimentee
Jan 13th, 2011, 05:32 AM
What time does the sun set at Melbourne this time of the year?

It has pretty much been dark all day anyway, because of all the cloud. Lack of light isn't really a problem for the AO, as they have good lights on all outside courts. The only problem is rain :(

Jan 13th, 2011, 05:50 AM

Jan 13th, 2011, 05:58 AM

nevetssllim
Jan 13th, 2011, 09:49 AM
Well I'm glad I called it a night at 2am! But seriously, it's just like waiting for a delayed flight at an airport - you're told it will be another hour before play starts (when you know it's probably not going to be another hour!) and you're just left waiting around without really knowing what's going on. :o
