Boris Anrep was a member of the Russian nobility and a central figure in their cultural "Silver Age" before the revolution and the Bloomsbury scene in England between the wars.

As an artist, he is most famous for his mosaics at the entrance to the National Gallery in London.

He was perhaps the greatest love in the life of Anna Akhmatova, the greatest Russian poetess and easily the country's leading poet of the twentieth century, who had many love affairs (including with Modigliani, who drew her nude) and devoted almost an entire collection of poems to him.

I recently found out that he played men's doubles at Wimbledon in 1920. Does anyone know who he played with and how far they got?
