It's true. Patty withdrew. Maybe because of fatigue.

If you check the draw from the WTA website, it shows Q/LL in Patty's place.

I called now to Linz and they don`t know anything about a withdraw from Patty...

After looking at the draw I thought Patty would have a very hard time against Myskina but I'm more relieved that she withdraws because if she unfortunately loses her confidence will be brought down again, and I hope she can carry a great confidence into LA, which she is quite safe to enter. Think of the Maleeva winning Moscow and then lost 2 first round matches in a row, I think Patty has made a smart decision.

Happy Guy : That is exactly what I was thinking :) I wouldn't have wanted to see Patty loosing in the 1st round...and we all know it would have been a possibility against Anastasia ;)

If Patty is guaranteed LA, then she pulled out of Linz figuring she neeeded the rest to make noise at the Tour Champs.

I think it was a wise decison :) She must still be "schocked" by this win and I think it's better for her to rest :)

No matter how big some you guys say Patty is, she beat Serena and Lindsey this year. How many skinny fit players can say that!
