Isn't that the only warm-up that isn't plexicushion?

Anyways, good for her, Auckland is supposedly a very hospitable event.

No offense, but Auckland is for players on their way up or on their way down.

The Queen of International is back. I hope that she win something more than grand slam of international... I wait for something more from her. Maybe some tiny title in Australian Open?

They followed with a bit more, but not much, from radiosport.co.nz
Russian tennis queen Maria Sharapova will be the headline act at this summer's ASB Classic.
The former world number one has agreed to play in the Auckland tournament after opting out of an exhibition tournament in Hong Kong in a bid to collect ranking points ahead of the Australian Open.
Sharapova's appearance is the biggest drawcard since fellow Russian beauty Anna Kournikova played at the tournament in the early 2000's.
ASB Classic organisers have already confirmed that defending champion Yanina Wickmayer will return to defend her title.

They said it was very reasonable and that Maria's team approached them, also said how Joyce (Is that her coaches name?) had been there as a player quite a few times.
There is an interview with the tournament director, Sharkie, and others on radiosportthat will be on their website soon, go to
radiosport.co.nz, click on on demand, and it will be on wednesday midday to midnight 17.15 to 17.30
tried it and it is still playing last week, but will come on soon.

Maria has never needed Nike's encouragement to fuel her desire to compete in tennis; it's aways been an innate part of her.
Glad to see her in a real warm-up this year.:D

You forgot Maria already won AO title and final with "stupid Exhos", like you call it.
The reason for AO 2010 loss against Kirilenko is not Maria's participation in Hong Kong. Maria was well prepared for AO 2010. The reason for the loss is something else, but it is another subject
