$50K Las Vegas QF: (4)Mirjana Lucic def. Abigail Spears 7-6(3) 7-5!

8th win in a row and 11th in last 13 matches. She served really well, all games were to 15 or to love but she had blackout in 9th game of first set and 10th of second and lost serve as Spears converted only 2 BPs she had in the match. But Lucic broke back for 5-5 in first and won it 7-6 as well for the 6-5 lead in second.

Lucic's BPs: 3/14 so the result could have looked much better. Next for Miki is winner of Lepchenko(who she hardly def. last week) - Tatishvili match.
Also now her chances for AOpen MD are really high :)

Hopefully she can get a solid foothold in the top 100 and then go from there - her shots are sledgehammer blows but the only way she'll hurt the elite is to believe in her abilities and get her confidence up.
