Xinyun is quite convincingly on the rise. :speakles: Unfortunate that this match had to come in a first round though, Dokic has a lot to defend soon.

She was already defending 150 points this week.

i knew she would lose this match, but she only has herself to blame for a bizarre playing schedule. from winning 3 itf's in a row to playing hardly anything. she's a player who needs matches to get on a run. hopefully she will do better next week. frustrating

That's what happens when you take extended breaks for no apparent reason. serves her right she will never learn as she has done this countless times ever since she has attempted a full fledged comeback a few years ago .....

I guess she just doesn't want it enough. She always takes long vacations after a successful run.

Dokic seems like a lost cause. :help:

She has seemed to be a lost cause many, many times in the past and then bounced back. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next. It's a good thing players don't react as dramatically as tennis fans do to each and every loss; they'd all be in mental hospitals.

Another disappointing loss:o
Is there a reason why she skipped Guangzhou?

Han is in a good form though and Jelena didnt play since USO Q ... hopefully better luck next week in Tokyo.

I'm kind of sick of Dokic. She should be playing in WTA qualies at least. Quit wasting your time in the ITF if you want to do anything big again.

I guess she just doesn't want it enough.

Seems that way, although she could just still be emotionally fragile/erratic. That has to have something to do with why she plays such a stupid schedule despite knowing she needs consistent matchplay.

I sense a retirement in 2011. Don't wanna sound dramatic, but it just wouldn't surprise me. Especially if things don't go particularly well in Australia.

I'm seriously starting to wonder if Jelena wants this for herself. It's as if the fun of it for her is building her way up from scratch and then winning some challengers, then she takes a vacation to enjoy it, then waits until she can do it again.
