:)
Great, well deserved victory. Alla's serve and FH were on fire, and to be honest her opponent had not much of a clue what to do about it. In fact Alla's suspicious movement, BH, 2nd serve, complete lack of retrieving skills could be all well exposed, but Elena seemed not to be aware of Alla's flaws. Kudryavsteva was also more patient during the long rallies and was hitting with lots of precision, and few UEs even though there is little margin in her flat groundies.
:cheer:

edit: Alla was #103 2 weeks ago and now she'll reach career high at approx. #57

Vesnina will never win a WTA title. She played like 10% of what she's capable of and let Kudryavtseva ball bash her left and right.

Horrible "match" (it was more a ball bashing competition than a tennis match), the same level of the tournament, so that's ok.

edificio
Sep 25th, 2010, 10:42 AM
Vesnina will definitely be unhappy about that much. BUT Alla was so focused and her serve and returns were really working, even if they both had a good number of UEs.

F...F...F...F...F...F...!!!!!
That d.ft c.. will NEVER win a tournament :fiery:
I need new faves. One Lena never will win a Grand Slam, the other will never win a tournament....

Such a great opportunity and she blew it........ :shout:

Of course it is easy against players ranked 174, 165 and 163 but when your barely win against number 81 then lose in straights from number 82 in the final, it is fair to say Lena currently is barely a top 100 level player..

She needs to see a psychiatrist or something.....

Sorry about that, just had to get it of my chest. But oooooh Lena, how could you........ :hysteric:
Poor girl, she must feel devestated..

Alla congratulations with your first title. A great tournament, truly deserved!! :yeah:

Alla served amazingly and gained confidence from such strong service games to player more freely when returning Elena's serve. Congrats on the first title. :)

But really Vesnina should have won a title by now...

Well at least Lena did not blew it like in Istanbul, I've never seen Alla play that well before this Tournament, congrats to her :) It's always great to see players which are hanging around in the Top 100 for years without significant results winning a title :)

As for Lena, she really let Kudryavtseva play her game. She has some nice shots but she's not able to dominate her opponent and clearly lacks the firepower  I've no idea if she'll ever win a Title, first of all she probably won't get such an "easy" final opponent ever again and even if she would she clearly would lose if she lets her opponent play like this. I'm really sad for her as I thought she could win this and I absolutely HATE it when a Player loses so many finals before winning a title (Schiavone, Petrova, Golovin etc.). Of course these 3 players are leagues above her therefore I don't know if she'll ever win a Title, but I really hope so

Oh dear I hate it when people speak like she lost her 10. Career final :o In her previous finals she played Dementieva, Wozniacki and Pavlyuchenkova, it's not a shame to lose to them :o Of course this one was different, but remember how many chances Schiavone needed? She lost finals to the likes of Davenport, Pierce and Clijsters, and in her 8. Career final she met unknown Alona Bondarenko and lost in straight sets. And now a few years later she has a grand-slam. Of course Lena will never win a Slam, but it's not like she's the worst final player ever, she had 3 quality opponents and today the better player simply won, it's not like she choked :(

The way she lost this, is to be ashamed of (blowing a set and a break lead).

...Of course Lena will never win a Slam,....

It's nice to see she upped her game in the last two weeks. :D It would have even felt worse for to lose a final in consecutive weeks. Vesnina will win a title eventually.

This Asian Tour is truly awesome. A player, who was 15-21 since mid January is currently the best player on the WTA Tour. She should not even be the best player on the challenger Tour. Great concept WTA!!!:worship:

That being said Vesnina should just withdraw from finals. At least Groth took her opportunity for a cheap title, and put Kudryavtseva in her place.

You don´t get back on the horse, if you rode Sea the Stars and lost to a Shetland pony by five lengths.

You dont find Sea the Stars at Mickey Mousers. Thats why Elena should keep playing them

Unsurprising really. Kudryavtseva has some form under her belt and the Istanbul final exposed Vesnina as a player who makes reams of errors when she got vaguely near to a title.

Last year, Shahar won Guanghzou and Taskhent. This year, Alla made it to the Final in China and won the title in Uzbekistan.

There's a pattern a lot of girls may try to copy in the next years. ;)

Groth went from Guanghzou to Seoul, but that was a tougher tournament.

Really, Tashkent would have probably gone to Chakvetadze, but she had an illness.
