Vesnina already choking away her first title... :weirdo: :rolls:

Sep 25th, 2010, 10:45 AM
Wouldn't call this choking, she was never in a winning position in this set to actually be able to choke. She's just pretty tight at the moment.

But Alla's been serving very well so far too, so credit to her.

Anyway, opening for Lena to break back now...

Keep it up, Alla!

AK leads 6-4.

I've never heard so much shushing during a tennis match. The crowd, who knows how many (camera doesn't show), have a lot of stuff to talk about amongst themselves.

Crowd seems vaguely to be pulling for Vesnina.

Wheres the crowd? The court is setup like an ITF. This must be all paid by government because I cant see any sponsors.

Sep 25th, 2010, 11:05 AM
Alla breaks for a lead of 6-4, 2-1.

Vesnina perhaps broke herself, but Alla had some good returns.

They appear to have a bank of huge stands at the end of the court off camera. I'd really like to see the crowd. What they've shown of the stands doesn't show a lot of people, but there sure is a loud buzz of conversation going on. The umpire has been doing so much shushing. :)

Cant be more than a few hundred, mostly Russians. From the camera angle it looks like small amount of seating but they are all packed in together to amplify the sound.

Sep 25th, 2010, 11:25 AM
Alla gets the break and leads 6-4, 4-3.

Sep 25th, 2010, 11:29 AM
Alla leads 6-4, 5-3 now, so Vesnina has to hold on.

Sep 25th, 2010, 11:34 AM
Elena's service game 40-0, 40-15, 40-30, 40-40, AD, game! Well, at least she held.

AK leads 6-4, 5-4

Sep 25th, 2010, 11:38 AM
Alla hits two aces in a row!

Alla champion!

AK defeats Elena Vesnina 6-4, 6-4. She's so happy. That was some focused play from Alla.

Sorry, Elena. :(
