I have a very stupid question, but does any of the stadiums have roofs?

No roofs.

Not only that, they don't even have covers for the courts. They let them get wet, and then, dry them out... sometimes by having the ballkids dry them out with towels... on their knees .

In this day and age (where even Wimby has a show court roof!), that's a good question.

Sadly, _none_ of the courts have (retractable) roofs.

By the way, before the rain delay was official today, some people were using the big squeegee thingys to dry off the court(s).

------------------------------

An update:

ESPN just showed the court surface of Armstrong stadium, annddddd the rain is def. coming down harder. I don't expect the delay to abate anytime too soon yet. :rain:

(Naturally, all matches on all courts are delayed still.)

No roofs on the stadiums, but they do have an indoor facility.

The Women Doubles Final will be moved to Louis Armstrong.

You don't play a Slam final in a club-like/indoors facility.

ditto what Wiggly said, and on a disturbing though not surprising note:

The Westher Channel's website is indicating that the weather is going to remain more or less the same throughout the night. It wouldn't surprise me if the tourney admin. people try to start the Men's final and/or continue the Women's Doubles final tonight, but I wouldn't necessarily assume that the matches will be completed tonight ...at least not without further delays.

According to CBS Sports, the Men's Final has just been postponed until tomorrow at 4pm. No additional word on the Women's Doubles Final yet, but I'd assume the same....

Final official update:
Weather Information

(as of Sunday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. ET)

Due to the continued uncertainty of the weather forecast and to be fair to the players and not inconvenience our on-site fans any longer, we regrettably have to move the US Open Men's Singles Final and conclusion of the Women's Doubles Final to Monday, Sept. 13. The Men's Final will begin at 4 p.m. and be broadcast on CBS.

Check USOpen.org for the official schedule of all remaining matches.
