I saw Arvidsson's match today against Garbin. I think their games are somewhat similar. Unfortunately Sori will have to play better than recently to have a chance

It’s a nice draw, I expected worse, so I'm pleased.
I think Sori should win first and second round here… if she can't win this, then – :help:

Will she play doubles?

Not bad draw. She must win 1st round if she's hoping for the better results and better form.

Note a bad draw for Sori but things really depends on her level of play because for sure the talent is there... GL Sori :cheer:

Pls Sorana, I beg you : Quit that FAIL academy of a Muratoglu ! Your tennis since joining them can't stop of going backwards ! You are much worth than this ! Rejoin Sven and the Adidas team !

She is working with Adidas coaches.

Out of top-100 now.

I don't think that the problem is in Mouratoglou's academy. The problem is in Adidas team, cos they can't help Sorana cos they have so many players to work with. She needs coach who is ready to work with her 24 hours a day, not sometimes as Adidas team works. That slows down Sorana's progress!

She'll probably have to play qualifying for the AO. :o Oh man.

Oh this is such a horrible result. Such a disaster of a year, prob out of top 100...getting badly beaten by players she used to be better than :sobbing:

Def agree she needs a coach focussed on only her..needs to get away from academies and Adidas teams.

No. Things aren't that bad...not yet anyway. Sorana wasn't terribly fit last autumn and hit a slump then as well. Consequently Sorana doesn't have any points at all to defend for the rest of the year once the US Open points come off. So Sorana might find herself a couple of places outside to top 100 but no more and indeed providing Sorana can win even a small amount of matches during the rest of the season she should be able to move back into the top 100 fairly easily. And even in a worst case scenario where she would finish around 105, Sorana will still be able to get direct entry into the AO next year.

Obviously though Sorana is going to have to do a lot of work to rebuild her game and start winning on a regular basis again. And yeah, I agree with those who say she needs a good individual coach rather than membership of an academy.

I never realised previous slumps could be such a positive thing .
