Oct 18th, 2002, 11:31 AM
Yeah, it's been a little tough on us Lisa/Rennae fans recently... hope that they can do well at the year-ender :p

Oct 24th, 2002, 12:41 AM

Good luck!

Oct 24th, 2002, 11:08 PM
Well you know the rumor all over the thread that is elsewhere on this board (in General Messages, I think it was) is that Rennae is definitely retiring at the end of this year -- true?

Oct 26th, 2002, 12:01 PM
No idea Marsha, I hope she keeps playing! she could partner some aussie girl next year, it wouldn't be the same without Rennae...

Anyone also thinks this is going to be a short LA for us? :(

Oct 26th, 2002, 06:13 PM
Bea, we should send you down to LA, maybe you'll bring them some good luck! ;)

As far as retirement goes, I hope Rennae decides not to retire, or at least she takes some time to think about it. There is no reason for her to decide it right away. I want to see her play again (don't we all?) :), and since I can't go to LA, it would be just really sad to think my last time seeing her was at Acura. :( So, pleeeeease don't retire!!!! :)

Take the trophy home, Rennae!!

Oct 28th, 2002, 08:33 PM
This thread looks little depressing. Any nice pictures from the good old times?? :D

Go Rennae!!! :bounce:

Oct 29th, 2002, 03:55 PM
Ok, happier times! :D

From last year's WTA Champs:

Oct 29th, 2002, 06:21 PM
Now that's better! ;) At least Rennae is smiling there! :D

Could that file name be any longer? lol We use some long files names at work at times, but that's for sure the longest I have seen. ;)

Oct 29th, 2002, 07:29 PM
Come on girls! Go for the title!!!

Good luck!

Take the trophy home girls!

Nov 3rd, 2002, 09:51 AM
So, the first round match is against Janet and Wynne. I think that's pretty good, they usually play well against Janet/Wynne. :)

Good luck! :)

could raymond look anymore depressed after winning such a big title?

Nov 3rd, 2002, 06:46 PM
Good luck against Janet/Wynne! :)

BTW, I got an e-mail from Karen today, she's still away, but she says Rennae will definitely play the 2003 season and that she (Karen) will be back soon with more news to share :)

Nov 3rd, 2002, 09:24 PM
Thanks Bea! :) Great to hear Rennae decided to keep playing at least one more year! :D

Nov 4th, 2002, 05:32 PM
I can confirm Rennae is definitely NOT retiring. She is finalising her new partnership this week in LA. When things are in place I won't have a problem giving you the details and I promise you quotes from Rennae to clarify the situation. The web site will be up dated in the next few days.

Double partnerships end all the time. Rennae and Lisa have played together since 1996. Itís a professional decision based on the fact that both feel they have achieved all that they can with each other. I think after the French Open final both lost a little heart, it was the one they wanted the most. The year started with them basically winning everything in sight, but unfortunately most people judge performances on Grand Slam titles and so all in all itís been disappointing for both of them. They are no longer defending champions in any of the Slams, so they felt this was the best time for them to part company. Both feel itís time for a fresh start and to set new goals with new partners.

So, the draw has changed after Arantxa's withdrawal. Now Cara and Elena are in our quarter.

1 Virginia Ruano Pascual/Paola Suarez vs. Rika Fujiwara/Ai Sugiyama
3 Elena Dementieva/Janette Husarova vs. ALT Tina Krizan/Katarina Srebotnik

Nicole Arendt/Liezel Huber vs. 5 Cara Black/Elena Likhovtseva
Janet Lee/Wynne Prakusya vs. 2 Lisa Raymond/Rennae Stubbs

Two more days to go...

Nov 6th, 2002, 04:35 PM
The end is near :(

Nov 6th, 2002, 07:13 PM
Come on, Karen, I thought you are going to give us some better news, not that depressing "The end is near" kind of stuff... :p

Nov 6th, 2002, 11:01 PM
Let's kick some asses and remember to the "holy" time

Nov 6th, 2002, 11:09 PM

Nov 7th, 2002, 11:51 PM

Well, obviously I am cheering for Lisa & Rennae only now :D

Good luck!!!

Did I just give them the kiss of death too? :D

Nov 10th, 2002, 07:04 PM
Is this picking on Bea day?? Can I join in? :p ;)

Nov 10th, 2002, 08:10 PM
Yes you can pick on Bea. Do you know.........she went into another doubles thread and said " I hope you win the tournament" or words to that effect!!!

It's time to get rough with her...........just the way she likes it :)

Nov 10th, 2002, 09:04 PM
No way.....not Bea.....how could she do such a thing? ;)

Uh, she likes it rough!? I'm finding out things I didn't want to know about! :)

Another 3-4 hours to go. Good luck today!! :D

Nov 11th, 2002, 02:56 AM
oh :(

Nov 11th, 2002, 06:55 AM
Too bad it ended so soon! :(

So, if that was their last tourney together, thanks for the great run over the years! 30(?) doubles titles together is pretty darn good if you ask me!!! :D

Good luck next year!!! :)

And, come on Karen.....tell us some news now! ;) The tourney is over for Rennae...
