Jul 16th, 2010, 04:54 PM

Birth Date: 15/07/1994
Nationality: Slovenia

Nastja won 4 singles titles on the ITF Junior Circuit this year :worship: She is currently ranked 6th but has been as high as no. 4  Definitely one to watch for the future.

She's playing Anne Keothavong in the qualification of Portoroz tomorrow! Good luck

Shame for bad draw in Portorož. :tears: Still good luck and try to upset British lady. ;)

Good job Nasta!

Nastja defeated Ellen Barry from NZ and will play the top seed Irina Begu in the second round of Podgorica 25k.

Sep 25th, 2010, 10:41 AM
She lost in the second round of Podgorica tourney.

This week she's playing in Novi Sad, 10k, where she already got to the SF and is awaiting Ana Jovanovic, the top seed.

Feb 5th, 2011, 09:41 AM
After a R3 loss at AO to the eventual champion, Nastja played in a 25k tournament in Burnie. She did really well:

QR: [8] Kolar def. [14] Sanders 61 63

R1: [Q] Kolar def. [WC] Dominikovic 64 46 62
R2: [Q] Kolar def. [3] Buyukakcay 64 76(4) - career best win :D
QF: [Q] Kolar def. [5] Rogowska 16 61 63
SF: [Q] Bouchard def. [Q] Kolar 63 63

Feb 5th, 2011, 10:37 AM
I won't support her until she stops dying her hair black. WTF!:shout:

Feb 5th, 2011, 10:44 AM
She's not redhead since she was 13.

Well, she should be! I don't get this girlie thing that you need to dye you hair just for the sake of dying. She could be the best redhead tennis player after overtaking Melanie Klaffner:mad:

Feb 5th, 2011, 11:00 AM
Maja Matevzic was my favourite player ever and Kolar is the closest (even if only by the hair color) anyone has come to her.

And now she's drifting away...

May 8th, 2011, 04:27 PM
Nastja won 46 62 63 and is in the main draw :hearts:

May 11th, 2011, 12:53 PM
R2: (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. (4)Lenka Jurikova (SVK) 67(7) 64 64

She pulled out of Roland Garros

May 12th, 2011, 11:00 PM
i thought she would have done very well in rg juniors.

May 13th, 2011, 04:31 PM
QF: Kolar def. Voskoboeva (former top 100 player) 64 64 :worship:

Unfortunately Nastja lost to Doroteja Eric in the SF 75 46 46. She was up by a break in both the 2nd and the 3rd set :awww: Still a very good week :D

Jun 5th, 2011, 11:27 AM

^ yes Andreas she will play challenger in Maribor. :)

Great decision :oh:

Maribor, Slovenia:

Congrats:yeah: She's kind of annoying, though. She better go red again, or else she might fall in the category of Hercog:p

So, she's crossing out juniors?

Jun 5th, 2011, 06:39 PM

Jun 18th, 2011, 06:49 AM
That Maribor tournament has a nice trophy for a challenger. Do they get to keep it?

Jon! Is that your real name? It sounds good:p

Jurikova will be too hard IMO.
Nastja defeated Jurikova this year allready. :p Why not again? ;) Let's go, girl! :cheer:

I don't go to other forums. You can hog Hercog's forum all you want, but here we could use some space for non livescoring.

Jul 13th, 2011, 12:18 PM
It's already a thread in GM about her being insane. :o

Haters are just dumb.

I really wouldn't call that a hate-thread.

Nastja lost 64 67(8) 26 after a 3 hour battle. It's definitely disappointing that she wasted 6 match points, but she won 4 matches in a WTA tournament and scored her first top 100 win. There are surely a lot of positives to take from this. Her new ranking will be between 250 and 260, and she will be the 2nd highest ranked '94 girl after Laura Robson.

Jul 13th, 2011, 01:30 PM
It's already a thread in GM about her being insane. :o

Haters are just dumb.

She's not exactly the kind of player that makes the best first impression. The match was a mixture of great play and some horrible, sloppy shots - add the attitude and there's not much positive to take from the match unless you like nutcases:shrug:

Jul 13th, 2011, 01:56 PM
She should have sealed the match in the 2nd on one of her 500,000 MPs, but if you look solely at her game, there is a lot of promise. If she has someone that she works with that can harness all that negativity... she's got a lot of quality assets that should serve her well as she gets a little bit older.

Also, she had one MP that would have been a winner against most opponents that Pervak pulled out of nowhere to hit a crosscourt winner from basically the back wall. There were a lot of things that could have gone her way with just a pinch of luck... but ya, ultimately the loss has to go down to her mental state. Still... I'm impressed with her raw tools.

Anyone knows, why Nastja withdrew from Olomouc? I now she`s playing junior championship right now ... but ... no chance for US Open q now, I suppose.

Jul 25th, 2011, 12:15 PM
Nastja won the European Junior Championships in Switzerland! :) It's a GB1 event so quite a big win. The only match she had any problems with was the semifinal against Schmiedlova. Glad she seems to have gotten over her horrendous meltdown against Pervak last week. :o

European Junior Championships, GB1, Klosters, Switzerland, 18&U

2R: [6]Nastja Kolar (SLO) df. Chloe Paquet (FRA) 6-1 6-3
3R: [6]Nastja Kolar (SLO) df. Tamara Bizhukova (RUS) 6-2 6-2

QF: (WC)Nastja Kolar (SLO) df. (7)Alexandra Cadantu (ROU) 7-5 6-2

I guess she's definitely into US Open qualifying now? Finally a comfortable win after the dramafests in the first two rounds. :oh:

Another good win  She's really proving to be one to watch :D

I wouldn't be too sure about USO Q. Last year's cut-off was 245. With this SF, Nastja moves up to 237, but there were a lot of withdrawals last year. And who says she even wants to go to New York? :p

Jul 29th, 2011, 11:37 AM
What do you think she got the last minute WC for? Because this is the last tournament that counts towards the rankings before the cut-off.

Aug 23rd, 2011, 10:01 AM
I think this is good draw. ;) I somehow can see her qualify. :p

Aug 23rd, 2011, 09:46 PM
She broke but wasn't enough, lost 4-6 in the last set.

Aug 25th, 2011, 04:14 AM
I was at the whole match so I have pics that I will post after the USO, I'm too busy now ;)

And I'm not sure if you guys want to read my report from the match. Sorry to offend some of you but it's just the truth from what I saw

Aug 25th, 2011, 05:25 AM
We know how she behaves on court, nothing new. It also speaks volumes that her behaviour is encouraged by her coaches. Hopefully she realizes how ridiculous she looks and gets herself some proper help - mental and coaching.

Aug 25th, 2011, 09:17 AM
Oh my, that's the best he can come up with? I don't even know him - never heard of him... What was his previous username?

Aug 25th, 2011, 09:29 AM
Oh, I think I remember him somehow. Obviously a hardcore fan with no manners. I love how the rest of them agreed on me being jealous:lol: Lack of imagination is so painful to see this days.

Aug 25th, 2011, 09:37 AM
Back in the years, when I was among the first who signed up it was fun - nowadays there's a bunch of overprotecting psychos who can't even deal with people who don't agree with them. Has novak been banned yet? He's the one spewing shit there, fighting constantly.

I hope Nastja will be top 100 when the season 2012 will be over. She definitely has a talent. On the court she is really a little bit nasty (=P), but she is still young player and she has a time to change her behaviour.

Gremo Nastja!

Oct 13th, 2011, 09:36 AM

V mislih nimam drugega mesta, samo prvo mesto na svetu. Samo enico vidim pred seboj. Nič drugega.

Komaj 17-letna Nastja Kolar je velik up slovenskega tenisa.

This girl:facepalm: Hopefully she realizes this bollocks will be haunting her in a few years.

If only she wasn't talking out of her ass. Her answer regarding her attitude is cringeworthy and how she believs that in the crucial moments she plays her best tennis is also a flat out lie/delusion. She only needs to watch the Pervak match, or the Chanknashvili match, or even that Orage Bowl SF match against Dabrowski:tape: Girl, you need to back up these fairy tales. No one will ever take you seriously otherwise.

Nov 29th, 2011, 01:51 PM
Good week for her. In my opinion Kulikova is one of the best players when she is on fire (but sadly she has many injuries), so not a shame to lose against her. Good luck for 2012, Nastja! :yeah:

Feb 11th, 2012, 11:44 AM
She should qualify (or at least make QR3 here). I actually think this is a great chance for her to go deep in MD. Hope she will take her chance. :)

Ximena Hermoso (MEX) v (8)Nastja Kolar (SLO)

I don't know why she withdrew from Cali though

She had to play qualies there and she was in Japan for Fed Cup. Rampre was in MD and arrived in Colombia barely on time :p

Feb 11th, 2012, 04:48 PM
QR1 : Could be tough, because of the altitude  Ximena is used to it, while Nastja is not. :awww:

That's the point. Cali is not as high as Bogotá but it obviously helps to play Cali the week before. Especially for a young player who has never played under these circumstances Bogotá can be hell. Seriously.

Feb 11th, 2012, 06:55 PM

She was Seed 8 in qualies, beat Tina Tehrani 6-1 3-6 6-1 in Q1 and (16)Erika Zanchetti in Q2, 0 & 3.

In MD, she beat (WC)Anhelina Kalinina 7-5 4-6 6-1 (Kalinina is a very promising young player so this is a good win :)); she beat (4)Anne Schaefer 6-4 7-5 in R2

Now QF vs. (Q)Yana Buchina :cheer: She can definitely win this one!

Correct! Doing good job for her

Good week for her. I hope that she wins tomorrow.

Nastja! :cheer:

Sep 8th, 2013, 10:09 AM
F: (3)Claire Feuerstein (FRA) - (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) 6:1, 7:6(2) :[

Too bad. Second set was good, but Nastja started tie-break with DF and finished match in tie-break with DF.
Very good week though. She defeated some good players this week. :)

It seems everybody have forgotten about Kolar.

She's playing great this week in $75,000 Sharm El sheikh. She is already in the SF! :worship:

Q2: (4)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. Liudmila Vasilyeva (RUS) 64 61
Q3: (4)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. (5)Anna Morgina (RUS) 63 36 62

R1: (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. (Q)Raluca Olaru (ROU) 75 36 63
R3: (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. Valeria Solovyeva (RUS) 62 62
QF: (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) d. Jovana Jaksic (SRB) 46 75 63

Especially last two wins are great. Solovyeva is 236th in the world and Jakšić (who defeated Kaia Kanepi in previous round) is 165th in the world. Serbian won 5 ITF's in 2013.

I hope Nastja continues to play like that. Maybe she can win whole tournament? That would be huge.

Amazing week! Victoria Kan seems very in-form and dangerous player lately but healthy and motivated Nastja can defeat her easily I think. With her best tennis she will win the biggest tournament in her career tomorrow.

Nov 24th, 2013, 02:00 PM
Kolar just lost first set against Kan 4:6.
She has a lot of opportunities to come back, but Kan was just better in important moments. Hopefully Nastja can turn around things...

Fantasy Hero
Nov 24th, 2013, 02:05 PM
yes...overall a very tight match, but I am not sure she has enough left in the tank to turn this around :o

Nov 24th, 2013, 02:10 PM
BP conversation 1/10 :'(

Nov 24th, 2013, 02:49 PM
Final: Victoria Kan (RUS) d. (Q)Nastja Kolar (SLO) 6:4, 6:4

Too bad for Kolar. BP conversation killed her today --> 1/13

But most important, this was defenitely her most succesful week after summer 2011 and today she wasn't outplayed. Actually Kan had more problem just in the SF, against former top 50 player.

Keep it up Nastja!

She's had a pretty good season so far.

Won the 1st tournament that she played, 10K Kaarst, as a qualifier in January. Made a SF in 25K Jackson in April.

And now she's in the final of 25K Ystad, as seed 3. :) Beat Danilina 1 & 2 in R1, Pous-Tio 0 & 4 in R2, (8)Celik 1 & 1 in QF, Knoll 2 & 4 in SF. Impressive.
She will face (7)Sandra Zaniewska (who hasn't dropped a set either) in the final. :cheer:
She already won the title in dubs, along with Yvonne Neuwirth. It's her 1st 25K doubles title. Congrats! :yeah:

She also reached a CHR of 230 this year, and this week she's at 234, so with her result of this week, she should reach a new CHR and Top 200 is very close. Eventually! :D Seems like the dark days are behind her now.

Jun 21st, 2014, 12:00 PM
She won the tournament. In final she defeated Sandra Zaniewska 64 64. She'll be around 200th in the world now. Hopefully she can come close to top 100 by the end of the year.

Lost 4-6 6-7(3).

It was a close match, Nastja was up a break numerous times, but almost nearly never held afterwards. She took a MTO before serving for the 2nd set at *5-4, and got broken back right after. :hysteric: She saved 3 MPs at *5-6 0-40 and won that game and I thought that maybe Siniakova was losing the plot, but she won the TB quite comfortably right after.

Nastja still has that poor, negative attitude, and though I admit it's quite entertaining to watch, it's quite disappointing to see she hasn't really grown up... :(
