The US Open Series is the six-week summer tennis season linking 10 ATP World Tour and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour tournaments together. The Series leads to the US Open. It is often referred to as the U.S. or North American hard court season.
Players earn points according to their results in the events; points awarded at ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and WTA Premier events are doubled. The male and female player with the highest point totals each earn double the prize money at the U.S. Open, players with the second highest point totals increase their prize money by 50%, and players with the third highest point totals receive a 25% increase.

2009 Winner: Elena Dementieva

I'm pretty sure  that Jelena wasn't the 2009 USOS winner. If she was then I'm an awful fan for not remembering that amazing feet.

She'll win in 2010 though. :hearts:

Very wide open. I expect Serena to save her best for NY.
Probably 10 players with a real chance for this.
Maybe Sveta will pull herself together now.

I cant remember a time when the whole clay season, and all the non majors were this wide open.

From Rezai to MJMS to Kim, Jelena, Venus..
a lot of different Tier I winners this year

Serena, as usual, will tank in a non GS tournament.

Not really sure with vee's performance she's always have a rollercoaster result.

JJ and sam have a real good chance.

but i think the winner of this year is between Clijsters or Sharapova.

Count serena out, she will only show up in new york. For the first time I believe venus could win this, she seems to be doing better in non slams than she is in slams, maybe she will play mor ethan one tourny- she usually plays stanford and loses in the final.
In all honesty, the series is the kind of thing to be won by players like stosur, wozniacki, or may be even Zvonereva players who will play 3 or 4 otunies and go deep in each one.
We can expect a very lean schedule for Kim too.

The whole Series thing has never taken off. I'm interested to see how Stosur does, I hope her Spring wasn't a fluke.

does it matter who wins it, cos its meaningless.
win tourns do well get points thats what people remember.

2005 and 2007 were this century.

Anyway I think Venus might be hungry after losing relatively early at Wimbledon, so she might go on a tear.

Then again, I voted Maria for fun.
