The people behind "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" have their sights set on former tennis star Jennifer Capriati and are willing to pay a pretty penny to get her to sign ... TMZ has learned.

Sources say "Rehab" producers are in talks with Capriati -- who accidentally overdosed on prescription meds last month -- and are willing to pay her top dollar to make her their ace in the hole for the upcoming season.

Although nothing is set in stone right now, we're told Capriati would be the big star the show desperately needs, since it's only landed B-teamers like Tila Tequila, Shauna Sand, and Jason Wahler.

What is the long term success rate of these shows?

There is lot of infighting on that show, but I am confident Jen can handle it. SHe is no pushover

This is the woman who told a baby to STFU once. Who knows how cruel she'll be to these D-list assholes.

Maddoff wouldn't do that to a little girl. would he?;)

Besides Maddoff club of suckers was extremely exclusive, do you think Jen or Stefano had enough recommendation to be let in?

Jason was on the MTV shows "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills"

Shauna was a Playboy Playmate

What would make this better is if they got one of the pornstars who has done a scene with Jen's boyfriend.

That would be bloody amazing!!!

Jennifer needs professional help not some qack who thinks they can help her and then have it fail. When are TMZ going to leave this alone? and give Jennifer some space to get proper professional help on her own.

This is not something that should be mocked as it is a serious problem that highly treatable.

TMZ should be ashamed of themselves it a total disgrace and who people who read this stuff should stop reading it and encouraging them to write it. It is no one's business but Jennifer and her family.

This is just horrible opportunism, extremely crass.

Just let her recover in privacy.

Its not like she is an A lister either. Outside the tennis world, not everyone knows her. Also I don't get PAYING someone to go to rehab. Like that's so backwards to me.

Thank You...I'm Jennifer who...Oh yeah her. Please. All of these shows are exploitive. But she is a drama queen so I expect to see her. Once sober (wink wink nod nod) next stop...Dancing with the stars?

I totally agree with you. People that think Jennifer going on this show is a good idea have no idea what their talking about. People who want to watch shows like this are sick individuals. Let Jennifer recover in private or the next time she might just OD and do really bad damage to her self that might even result in death. OD and sucide are not things to be taken lightly. No one knows for sure if it was a OD or sucide attempt but either way they shouldn't be taken lightly and shows like this should be taken off the aor before they do real damage.

This poor child hasn't had a moment of privacy since she burst onto the scene as a teenager on the tour...being on national TV for rehab certainly wouldn't help her situation. That would almost make it worse. Jennifer needs to take some time for herself away from the national media and get herself together. Find some happiness away from tennis. Or become a coach - Amelie Mauresmo is a great example of how a former top player can aide players currently on tour. She looked great at Wimbledon, and the guy she was coaching (can't remember his name) was giving Roddick a run for his money! Jennifer would be a great mentor to these young players nowadays. But stay away from TV Jen!!!!!
