Serena is 12-time GS champion so far (including 3xWimbledon), best WTA player in XXI century for sure and current WTA#1, and Bepa just reach career first GS final, 1st time achieve better than 4th Round Wimbledon result and next week will back into TOP10. So no needs to explain why betting odds on Serena for todays final are 1.15 and 5.50 on Zvonareva (according to odds in whole century only Venus is bigger GS final favorite at Wimbledon 2007 than Serena today). Despite it's obvious who is (heavy) favorite today, let's focus here only at Zvonareva chances, and what make eventual today's sensational scenario (Bepa win) more realistic:

- Zvonareva playing career best tournament.

- Already beat here two former #1

- Her 1st serve is better and much effective than ever:
won over 75% points on her 1st serve
70% 1st serve in
average 1st serve is faster than 100mph in all matches

- Mentally she looks stronger than ever and both 3-setters which won Vera won after losing 1st set

- With Maria Sharapova, Vera Zvonareva (at IW 2009) is only Russian which ever won some two-weekers final (GS, Miami, IW or OG) when opponent is not another Russian

- Her current coach (former Azarenka coach) is big anti-Serena expert. At Serena 2 fovorite tournaments Vika beat Serena in Miami final and almost beat her twice at Australian Open (2009 and 2010 both time won 1st sets)!

- Serena not impress too much anybody so far at Wimbledon 2010 (but except Sharapova, she don't have any serious oponent so far).

- Serena lose in doubles (she won 6 of last 8 doubles slams, including last 4 in the row) is not good sign for her, especially if we know that Bepa'c doubles team beat sisters and Zvonareva (with Vesnina) reach final this year.

- At latest slam (RG/10) underdog and 1st time finalist won title.

- Theory conspiracy is also with Vera:
Serena is heavy favorite and also thanks to current FIFA world Cup and also Federer's dies - today's will be by far biggest stake on some WTA player single victory in history of betting. So will Serena be temporary poisoned, or Richard corrupted, or UK bookmakers and/or Russian Mafia find other way...

- 13 is most JINX number and Serena trying to reach 13th GS title.

- Serena only 3 times lose GS finals, but 2 of this 3 loses are at Wimbledon, and she already against all odds lose once here against Russian blondie underdog which played her career first GS final.

- Since official WTA ranking exist (Open Era) nobody ever won Wimbledon title without beating any TOP10 opponent. If wins today - Serena will be first one! Probably nobody ever before won any WTA GS title without beating any TOP10 opponent, but I'm not sure about rankings of some TOP5 seeded players at Australian Open in late 70'is where many elite players of that era simple not compete in Melbourne.

Any New Idea or fact please?

And please don't try to prove HERE anything about Serena today's chances... it's simple wrong thread for that, and like I say in opening sentence - no doubt who is (heavy) favorite today

lolwut :hysteric:
The only way I see Vera winning is if Serena's serve disappears or Vera plays a lights-out return game today. Vera should look to extend the rallies and use variety to throw Serena off her game. If Serena serves big and overwhelms Vera at the beginning its gonna be really hard for her to even get a set.

Demekhine is former coach of Azarenka? Vera is no longer working with Van Grichen.
