The way venus played and clijsters is playing now they honestly deserved to be beaten the shit out of them. Just like justine was yesterday. I´d rather encourage that virgin semifinal line-up now, gives the toppplayers something to think about. :(

It looks like my prediction that a WTA where anyone can be #1 would soon be followed by a WTA where anyone can win a slam is coming true. Although honestly I thought it would be another five years or so. And no, I don't see that as a reflection of depth, or as a positive development. (It could be, but I think it has more to do with injuries, burn out, screwy scheduling, and inconsistent play than it does with a whole bunch of players just going medieval on each other and playing lights out tennis).
