I don't think it's really a diss of Maria

As the tournament progresses, players expect tougher matches  That said, Serena will probably beat Na more easily than she beat Maria, something like 63 75.

Well Li has beaten Serena within the last 5 years whereas Maria hasn't

So predictable... this thread I mean.

As soon as Serena said that, I thought "I wonder how long it'll take before TF starts the queeny fits. About 3 minutes is the answer.

This thread wasn't created to start a fan-war. No, not at all.

 In that same interview the first thing Serena talked about was how well Maria played. Granted it was in a pretty patronizing way, but still, on paper it looks nice!

Yeah because someone better take advantage of Serena's horrible groundstrokes.

Yeah Serena was hitting MUCH better off the ground last year, her serve has just been out of this world though

Serena didn't return well against Sharapova at all. She was way too anxious. She needs to calm down.

Bitch, Bitch, Bitch...all Serena did was say something respectful of her next opponent.

The last time Li beat Serena was 2008 when Serena was #1. The last time Sharapova beat Serena was 2004 when Serena was at the bottom end of the top 10.

Besides, Serena playing well has never 61 61 Li.

Serena is too arrogant for her own good. Sure, she's the best player in the world - and deservedly so - but she needs to take her head out her ass because it's making her a very ugly person.

Calm Down. Serena congratulated Maria on how well she played - but you just look at the negative ( which was probably a slip of the tongue )

she is right, Na Li is a top ten player, sharapova is not. Thread is useless as usual from this poster:rolleyes:

She was way too ambitious.

She had no business trying to blast winners off every Sharapova serve. She would have had a much easier day at the office if she'd just focused on getting the point started.

Truth.

When playing against Serena the last few years its been:

Li >>> Sharapova

Li just beat Maria like two weeks ago, she took serena to two tough tie breaks at the AO where it is truly her turf. Na is one of the few playrs that trouble both sisters equally.

Sad thing for the crowd the Beast was not taken out today.
The winner of Zvonareva Clijsters is the only one who can beat Godzilla here.

It did sound weird, like a dig at Maria. But its probably the truth, Na and Serena have had some tough matches lately.

she always says that after every round in a slam even her nexxt opponent is complete and total scrub plus Na has given Serena tougher matches and a loss in the last few years while Sharapova is still strugglign to get back to her best.

LOL you are an utter embarrassment to yourself. There is no logic to ANYthing you say. So, she has to be more respectful of Maria, and not say something nice about Na Li?

Li is higher ranked, has reached a semi this year, has beaten Serena recently, and has played her closer than Maria did today. And frankly, she's playing better than Maria is.

Why shouldn't she expect a tougher match?

As long as Serena serves as well as she has been, she'll win in two. Might be tight. I say 6-4 6-4.

It's a cliche that she says after basically every single match, some variation of "I'm going to have to play better because the matches keep getting tougher". Some Maria fans are ultra-sensitive, what's she supposed to say, that the matches get easier?

Here's a surprise, Serena says something that can be twisted into being something bitchy and it gets posted here right away, enough with this stuff guys.
