Radwanska was trying to push the ball, but Na was painting the lines today making winners from everywhere

Now we're going to get a good tennis match in the QFs :)

Yeah.
When she meets a decent player, Radwanska easily loses.
Bye bye.

Predicted this.

- Radwanska tried all her tricks. Dropshots got the treatment.
- Radwanska tried serving/volleying on some really slow first serves and got burned.
- Li completely dictated with power and depth. Mere spectator was Radwanska.

Of course, Li is No.9 and Aga No.7 seed.

That was poor by Aga. She was clearly 2nd best in this match. Not much else to say ...

Expected - Na is playing really well as of late and Radwanska is useless against in-form power hitters anyway

Typical idiot ballbashing vs pushing
just like their previous match at Wimbledon but different winner.

Aga's serve and defence really let her down. Those two elements were working very well in her previous matches but not today.

That was amazing. Radwanska has no chance when Na Li hits the lines. I expect a good QF match between Williams and Li.

I've seen only the 2nd set and that was terrific performance from Na. :worship:
Aga is lost, she's not a player she used to be, there may be a freefall in the rankings going on in the nearest future. No chance for next year end in top 10. Hope she's gonna regroup and work on her game asap.

Na  :worship:

Aga  This is why she is not a top grass court player. Her fate will always lie in the hands of about 15 other girls who will beat her if they play well.

Defence let her down, cuz she's much slower nowadays. It's been stated by many polish commenators before, and it seems very true. Aga is nowhere near top 20 without her speed.

Usually on grass Radwanska can use the qualities of the surface to keep her opponents off-balance more than any other surface, but today she had no answers.

The only way Masha will win their match is if Shitrena shows up (which doesn't happen at Wimbledon).

Jun 28th, 2010, 12:26 PM
Aga  bad match, too many UEs and too low 1st serve percentage to beat in-form Li

Aga had some chances in the 2nd set, when she was handling Na's hard hitting a bit better than in the 1st set, but lost the important points :/

My two main faves both out of the tournament :(

Anyway, congrats Na, deserved win, a lot of winners, her shots were too accurate for Agnieszka

Na played very well, Agniezska just can't deal with that sort of pace and depth.

This English Open was a microcosm of Radwanska's career so far: makes the best of an easy draw by handily beating underpowered opponents who have nothing to hurt her with, and then runs into a power player who is on her game and gets blown clean off the court.

Same old.

I've said it before- given good enough execution, whoever takes charge of the points will win. However on the wta tour, most of the players, most of the time, fail to execute shots, so it becomes a good strategy to keep the ball in play and wait for them to screw up. But, in big tournaments like slams, eventually someone will be playing well, and will win against a player who does this. Hence Aga's inability to run deep in slams. Of all players in the top 20 (possibly 50) Aga has the slowest racquet head speed. If she was incredibly quick, perhaps this style would be okay, but she's only above average in terms of speed with good court sense, not remarkably fast. She makes up for it with good improvisational skills (such as that ugly squat-down-on-the-ground half volley defense near the baseline), but in the end she is not in control of her own destiny against a big hitter in any kind of form.
