Is it possible for today's headcases :rolls:
The closest I've heard of was Mauresmo who hit 2 in a match somewhere.

My gut tells me that Chris Evert did this against at least one hack in her career.

I'm sure Camille Pin could have whilst being steamrollered by someone.

you say it like its so easy not to commit an unforced Error.... As if being a headcase can top you from barely hitting the net or barely missing a shot long...

I saw Jessica Kirkland hit only 2 errors in 10k Atlanta last year in Q1...those were the only points she lost

Maybe in a really short match where one of the players retires after a few points.

It pains me to bring this match up, but I'm pretty sure Venus only hit 1 in her 6-0 6-1 defeat of Safina year.

Maybe a Hingis match. I remember a lot of 1-10 UE's in matches.

Serena almost did in her match against Hingis at the US Open semifinal 2001! Really flawless.

Wickmayer into last round of qualifying
>> THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2010
Yanina Wickmayer, the rising Belgian star ranked #16 in the world moved to the third and last round of qualifying for the 2010 Australian Open after beating Naomi Cadavay of Great Britain. A day after escaping with a third set come from behind victory in the first round of qualifying, Wickmayer needed less than an hour in disposing of Cadavay - 60 61. She won more than twice as many points as her opponent, 54 - 26, and finished the match with an incredible 0 unforced errors. She never faced a breakpoint while converting six of the eleven break points against Cadavay

Zero UFEs is cool, but has anyone done a 'golden set'?

That would require winning every point in a set (24-0):tape:.

How about a 'golden match' (48-0)?

I wonder if a player has ever managed to win a match without hitting a winner and an ace?

No, she lost that match to Li.

To my recollection, the most winners she hit in a match win was 8 against Petrova in 2010 Indian Wells R4, 6-3 3-6 6-0. Less than 3 winners per set. :tape:

Roberta Vinci against Carla Suarez Navarro won just one point in second set, so she was 24-1...but I remember match when someone was 23-0 with 3 set points to golden bagel, but lost this game...then won a set 6:1 but lost the others two 0:6, 0:6:rolls: I think it was between Shvedova and Frazier (Shvedova won the first set)

EDIT: Vinci - CSN Marbella 2010, Shvedova - Frazier Memphis 2006

There were two matches before the Open era (in the 50s) where the winner didn't lose a single point. I'll have to look through all my old tennis magazines to find out who they were.

I remember Cibulkova hitting 1 UE in a long set at RG against Jankovic. She lost 5-7, but considering it was on clay, long rallies against Jankovic, it´s pretty good.
